Not just Keto! All inclusive info for Metabolism!
I LOVE this book!! It’s well written and laid out to cover all things related to your metabolism (how it works and what can derail it), not just how to go keto and/or fast. He discusses autoimmune and other disorders with advice on how to tweak the he changes for those situations. And the info is all in ONE place. You can check out your he author’s YouTube, podcast and website to get a taste (as I did), but I’ve found it easiest to implement using this ALL encompassing book.Traditional doctors will beat you up w the old “calories in, calories out” garbage with little to no consideration of all of the interactions between various body systems and ALL hormones and related fluctuations due to stress (cortisol is an interrupter) and age (peri-menopause/menopause among others). They rarely check thyroid hormones, and when they do they leave off the two most important: T3 and Reverse T3 (it blocks T3 absorption by the receptors thus crashing your metabolism). It’s not the thyroid - issues w those hormones are conversion related in the liver due to stress.Low T3 can be the cause of migraines and severe memory issues (scared you’re developing dementia?) Once mine was self-diagnosed (after other failed treatments), and discussed with my own open-minded Dr and treated, my migraines are almost completely gone and my memory issues have resolved. New rosacea can also be an indicator of T3 issues; I learned that through separate research and it’s cleared up as well. Aleo the thinning and/or loss of the outer third of your eyebrows.We’re also falsely told that we get a bough iodine in our American diets bc we love salt. Except that we’ve been told to cut (iodized) salt out for 40+ yrs due to high blood pressure, so we’re actually deficient in a crucial component to make thyroid hormones which are not he foundation of our metabolism. Of course, you also need your vitamins (D and Bs are essential in higher than RDA doses- see your good Dr for blood tests) and minerals; the author explains the need and benefits in the book.I’ve read a lot on the subject, as well as listened to podcasts and watched videos from this author and other functional medicine doctors and professionals. I wouldn’t normally share my personal health issues so publicly, but so many of us are struggling and don’t know why; when we seek help we’re gaslit in countless ways and told our lab work is normal and the problem is in our heads or that it’s to be expected bc we’re aging (49 is not old!!). Normal levels are not optimal and typical panels are not all inclusive. As frustrating and time consuming as all of the learning may be, it’s necessary to be your own best advocate. The wonderful thing is that you can shortcut the years I spent finding info and read this book.I hope my openness helps you in your journey forward to your best health!

Excellent description of book..."Remains in good condition. Pages are intact and are not marred by notes or highlighting. Spine remains undamaged." Even better, the book would have been "Like New" if it weren't for very slight shelf wear. Thank You Value Enterprises!

Best Ketogenic Diet book out there!
I LOVED this book! Dr. Jockers filled this book with so much amazing information about the ketogenic diet and lifestyle. He covers all the need to know information for succeeding in losing weight, getting healthy and inflammation free! He includes recipes and all of the latest information on how to get healthy and maintain health for the rest of your life. I have been following a Ketogenic lifestyle for the past several years and learned so much more from reading his book. Thank you Dr. Jockers for your amazing book and for helping countless people get healthy! God bless you and your family!

AWESOME BOOM!
I really loved this book. Dr Jockers is very knowledgeable and breaks down so many scientific ways Keto works and functions of the body. Easy read, I finished it quickly! Highly recommended!

Great resource!
I've been doing Keto for over a year, but just recently came across Dr. Jockers. Can I just say...he's the real deal! His advice is sound and he communicates SO well. I loved reading his book, which for me was mostly review, but there were areas that he clarified and further explained for me. The book is full of pictures and diagrams, which are a plus as I am a "visual" learner. The recipes in the back of the book look so delicious. I can't wait to try them all!
