Yes the display lights up - it also lights led lamps to show the state of the Socket/power socket if there are any problems - it will be so simple to use - just plug it in your 13 Amp socket and it will display any problems - Good Kit - just follow the instructions - they are so simple

No it doesn't make a sound. The only sound you hear is if you are testing a power breaker. Then you hear the sound of the breaker clicking off. You know if the power is on if you have you plug socket switched on. It will show you the status of the switch with the red lights. It tells you on the plug what lights are normal or in fault.

Hi. No definitely not. You plug it in like a normal 13A plug and it tests the socket. In fact, it needs the power to function.
