Not really 3"
These balls were (as other reviewers stated) less than 3". Some of the balls were messed up at the equator - not glued together perfectly straight. I was able to use them to make quilted ornaments as planned as the imperfection was hidden by the fabric.

THIS IS A GREAT DEAL! I love these!
I have searched Amazon (and eBay, and Etsy) looking for the cheapest way I can get a dozen 3" styrofoam balls, balls with a clear equator and poles, balls with no holes in them, balls that are smoooooth. I have done my research. These balls here are simply the best deal, at $9.98 with free Prime shipping, that's less than a buck a ball! They arrived in a well-protected cardboard box and plenty of cushioning, so none of them was damaged even a little. They are exactly what I was looking for (see above). And this price simply cannot be beat. I feel stupid putting in yet another 5-star review, but a good product is a good product, and a good price is a good price. Just is.

It’s a huge foam ball. It’s what you’re looking for when you want a huge foam ball. Perfect.

I faked wood with these
I'll tell you a secret. I have curtain rods in my house made of painted electrical conduit with these painted to look like wood. And you know what? You genuinely can't tell. They're for a long run along a high ceiling, so granted, nobody gets a close look. But buying actual curtain accessories, especially large enough/long enough for that space would be more expensive than my cheap self wanted to shell out, and buying the cheapest curtain rods would mean sagging and looking terrible. These turned out great, once I realized that spray paint would melt them into a puddle of toxic goo, but acrylic paint applied with a brush would maintain their smooth texture.

Perfect!
My daughter actually use this for a solar project and she got a 100 for planet size accuracy! I will buy again next year.

Best balls so far
I cant say enough good things about these balls. They're dense and they're accurate 100% of the time. I appreciate the little circles that are dead center on each side of the divided line. I can make ornaments accurately each time without wasting any materials. I was forced to purchase less expensive ones as these were out of stock. DON'T BUY THE CHEAP ONES. The cells aren't as dense the balls are not always the same. These will never let you down. The extra 6 bucks is worth it for your end product

BB-8
Packaged well. Had all the sizes I needed and they were easy to cut, paint and to use. I had tried other kinds of foam balls and they just didn't work like these did. I also couldn't find all of the included sizes in any craft store in town or the surrounding area so it was nice to have all of them in one set. I used this set to construct a little styrofoam BB-8 and I'll definitely be purchasing again for the next project I think of that requires round objects (maybe R2-D2 next?)

Bait and switch....very dissatisfied with the second order (as they were not the same product)
I use these balls to make "quilted" and fabric Christmas ornaments. I had purchased the balls previously from this vendor and was very happy with them. I re-ordered them, expecting to get the exact same product. They are DEFINITELY not the SAME product!! First of all, the balls are smaller. I know this for a fact, because the fabric ornaments require precise measurements to make them. I could live with the size difference. However, there is another BIG difference with the new order that was sent to me, that I am very disappointed with. It's a little hard to explain, unless you can do a side by side comparison, but the "cells" of the new balls are MUCH bigger. In the pictures I provided, the first bare ball is from my first order. The second picture of the bare ball is the second order, with the larger "cells." The larger "cells" are not good when making the fabric balls. You have to cut into them and tuck fabric into the cuts. With this new order of balls, chunks of the ball (cells) push in or falls off...NOT GOOD AT ALL :( I wish I would have known that I could not use these balls before I marked and cut into one of them, so I could return them.
