Best black tea ever!
Best black tea you can get, especially for the price. No weird after taste, and doesn't get too bitter if you leave the teabags in.

NOT PYRAMID BAGS!
These are not PG tips pyramid bags. They are the flat square bags. Flavorless tea. I have been drinking PG Tips for 50 years. Switching to Yorkshire Gold. According to Google, PG Tips was bought out by Lipton. They changed the tea blend. They ruined this product.

My Favorite Tea
I'm a Brit living in the US and PG Tips is my tea brand of choice. I usually buy in bulk when I'm in the UK and bring about 500 tea bags back with me. When I run out, I buy from Amazon and even though I pay four times as much as I pay in the UK, they're still way cheaper than a plane ticket. Remember, tea is dried leaves, so you should ALWAYS add boiling water to your tea, whether in a cup or teapot. The importance of boiling water can't be stressed, it's the only thing that will open up and hydrate the leaves, giving you the best flavored tea. Let it sit for about 3-4 mins (depending on how strong you like it). I add milk to my tea, but I know a few people who drink it black with a little sugar, or add lemon. Paired with a couple of chocolate biscuits (cookies) you have the perfect mid morning or mid afternoon snack. Enjoy ;-)

Good, reliable tea, but the teabag shape has changed.
PG Tips have been and will always be my tea of choice — strong! However, these are not the traditional pyramid shape teabag as advertised. They are now the flat, square teabags same as all other teabags. That for me is enough to deduct a star!

I must correct the previous reviewer. "Near boiling water"???????? Are you kidding? The only way you get the correct taste is to use "boiling water" in other words - poor actual "bubbling" boiling water over the tea bag. It really does make a difference. If you leave the kettle more than 2-5 seconds then the water stops bubbling and is therefore not boiling and the transfer of the taste from the tea leaves to the water does not happen properly. Also while you let the tea steep in the tea pot make sure you put a good tea cosy over the pot to keep it as hot as possible with a suitable insulated stand or cork pad underneath and pour (after stirring) the tea within about 3-5 minutes depending upon how strong you like it. DON'T let the pot sit too long because again it spoils the taste if it cools too much. Also consider getting real China cups. Large thick mugs which are common in the U.S. might work for coffee but the thickness can suck the heat out of the tea and the first mouthful might be good but the last will be cold. Distilled water, WHOLE milk and moderate sugar to taste will give you the best cuppa tea you can get out side of England! A final note - do not clean the pot in a dishwasher. The best Chinese tea pots are made of porous clay and absorb the tea taste and improve the taste over time. Just rinse the pot with hot water to remove any leaves/sediment and leave inverted to dry.

No more pyramid bags; NOT!! as advertised
So apparently (see picture of the boxes) PG Tips has decided that Americans are too bloody daft to understand the difference between a pyramid and a flat square. This was advertised as “Pyramid Bags”, which are what I’ve bought and drank for a million years. They simply a) do not hold the same amount b) do not freely circulate the tea. Since they are non returnable as a food item, I’m stuck. Please change the description so those of us who care about our cuppas aren’t disappointed every day for at least the next month. Ugh.

NOT pyramid-style teabags!
Still the best black tea ever, but NOT pyramid tea bags! Listing shows these as pyramid bags for two-packs-of-40 grouping, but they were just regular teabags. Prefer pyramid-style (plus paid a bit more for pyramid style), but I won’t bother to return.
