AqueonReplacement Filter Cartridges Large - 1 pack

I love my Aqueon filter, it was so easy to set up and simple to use. The filter cartridges, I don't love so much. The cartridge that the filter came with was pretty good and I had no problems with it. I didn't achieve crystal clear water but I thought that was user error or as clear as my aquarium could get. But I didn't have a smelly aquarium or anything like that. When I came across this 12 pack, I bought it since it was such an amazingly good deal. However, the amount of charcoal in these is minimal at best. I guess the reason these are offered so cheap is because they cut costs on the charcoal. This cartridge on its own doesn't seem to do just a whole lot for my aquarium. I'm going to have to add more charcoal since this does nothing for smells. I finally got clear water by adding some filter sponges in the space behind the cartridge (came across that in some Amazon reviews of other products), who knew it was so easy?? The water became clear in less than an hour after adding the sponges.I do not recommend these cartridges no matter how good the deal.

Ok, so maybe I'm being wishy washy on the number of stars here. But, I have to tell you that the Large, which clearly states it fits the Aqueon 20, 30, 50, 55 and 75 absolutely DOES NOT fit the Aqueon 20. I luckily have both a 30 and a 20 so I didn't have to return them, however I did have to make a separate trip to the pet store to get the right size. All of the packages are mislabeled; I don't know how that is possible, but it is true. While I no longer have the box for the 20, I think I remember it stating that it took Large as well. I mean this is a massively produced product here, how can that be? Am I completely missing something here? And you can't "fold" it really either.Now, to review the filter itself, it is just ok, it doesn't have what I would consider a decent amount of activated carbon in it, but you can always slice open the fiber and add more. I actually found this helpful recently when I had to medicate my tank and remove the charcoal.

I asked the community the size of the pads, and I received a response - 5"x7". Yes, this was a close size, but often times we need to have an exact size - like ounces and price. Please see the attached images, because the size is not located on the item description.I bought the fish tank from somebody so I did not have a box or a model number printed on the filter to reference. The size in the description would be helpful to anyone else looking/shopping.

I've been buying Aqueon filters for years and it's never let me down.Keeps water crystal clear. Easy to swap out old filter with new.It's the best bang for your buck. It also includes coupons to boot!The most important thing is to WASH B4 USING!Turn on the tap and hold the filter underneath it.Be sure to grasp the edges of the filter, do a spin back and forth quickly, like you're opening/closing a jar.A lot of dark carbon will flow out and after a minute it'll be gone.Then when you do a partial water change you can use that as your final rinse.Sure it's cheaper to buy DIY filter kits but it takes a lot of time and gets messy.Update: 5/1/2020. There seems to be less charcoal than before, like 33% less yet prices went up 33% more :\

Fit and make looks good but I would estimate that these filters have 10% or less of the activated carbon that the ones I have been using had - same brand and model so these are not actually made by Aqueon and are counterfeit or they have significantly changed the product. Weight of each filter is a fraction of the old ones. I could see cutting the filter material by 10% or even 25% and hoping no one noticed, but 90% +? Old ones are heavy, thick and the entire filter was stuffed with the activated carbon maybe an 1" thick, new ones are one grain/layer deep and only cover at most 40% of the filter surface area. Night and day difference between the two, difficult to believe they are the same product.

My fiancee was nice enough to buy me an aquarium for two years ago, complete with filters, cartridges, submersible heater, air pump, etc. I received an Aqueon QuietFlow Filter with my gift, and knowing nothing much about the types of filters that existed, I thought it was fantastic. Now, a little over two years later I know a lot more about fishkeeping and supplies, and I still think my Aqueon is a great HOB filter. It works on my tank alongside an AquaClear 50 gal filter, and the setup more than meets my expectations.The filter cartridges, however, are terribly expensive. The only "LFS" (if you can even call it that) in my area is a PetSmart, and while I try to avoid that store, I have two cats, so I'm there more than I'd like to be. Eventually I wander to the fish section, and I surrender my wallet and its contents to the cashier. This same 12-Pack of cartridges at the store is around $42. I get the same exact thing on Amazon for a little over $20, with tax added. I rarely spend less than $35 on this crazy site, so I usually get free shipping, so that's another expense I am not accounting for.I get six more filters online for the same price it costs me to get a 6-pack at the store. Crazy!I think they work very well for the price, and for being just a standard filter cartridge. They're nothing fancy, but I'm satisfied with how they work. I would, and have, recommended this product to friends.

Good product at a good price. They are way cheaper here than at Petco or your local aquarium shop. On average, I'd guess these are about 50% cheaper than elsewhere. They work well, but I'm taking off one star based on some recent incidents. For the first time ever, a few of the filter cartridges have been somewhat poorly constructed. A couple even were falling apart. I will say that you can call Aqueon directly, and they will be happy to provide you with a replacement if necessary.

These work as promised and are a very reasonable price considering the fact that there are 9 in there. I do wish that they were in an even number as my tank filter takes 2 filters each time that I change them, but at least the numbers even out every other time I order these!These arrived quickly and in non-nonsense packaging. I will be buying more as my stock runs low.

The Aqu filters are easy to install and last 2 weeks or more before needing to be changed againThe 12 pack is a great price as they are not to much more than what they charge at Walmart for a six packGreat deal

Does the job Keeping our goldfish aquarium clean! As long as you do proper water changes, this works perfectly well.

It’s cheaper than the one I bought at pet land . However , the mesh is a lot thinner . And the overall weight is lighter. It’s definitely a counterfeit . But you get what you pay for

Excellent Cartridge at an excellent price!. I have a 55 gallon aquarium and very messy fish as such I bought 2 filters and put them on my tank so it remains clean. With this Filter and Cartridges I am actually going to use one filter! Which is very exciting. The filter itself is very quiet and the cartridges are super easy to install
