I'm not a Luthier but I like too buy, setup and flip guitars and I keep the one's like. Be careful when using the fret hammer you're not pounding in nails one tap too many and you could be in trouble. This product is a big help & I recommend it

Ive used everything in this kit and had no problem, the square sanding board wears fairly easy, but thats to be expected. Was very happy with the fret rocker, file and hammer. The fret rocker was worth the price alone.

I just did 2 necks with stainless steel frets. I started the crowning job with a set of StewMac fret crowning files that have. I quickly switched to the one that came in this inexpensive package. It handled the stainless steel much better than the StewMac files. It was also much more comfortable to work with. The fret rocker is a fret rocker - a funny shaped piece of metal. It does the job just the same as any other fret rocker. The hammer is OK but I didn't use it much since I pressed the frets in. The little metal protective strips worked OK but I didn't use them much. I just taped off the fingerboard. I didn't use the grinding stone at all so I can't really rate it. As the title suggests, I'd have payed this much for the crowning file and the rocker alone. The others are lagniappe, as we say down here.

There were some negative reviews that almost deterred me from buying this, but I had already spent so much on so many other materials for my build that I didn't feel like throwing down a bunch more for fretting tools, so I took my chances. I'm glad that I did, because it worked perfectly. The crowning file worked just fine on stainless steel. The mallet is sturdy with a good weight. The fret rocker is the same, sturdy, good weight. I don't have much use for the grinding stone, but the kit is worth it for the crowning file, rocker, and mallet by themselves.

I bought this for a cigar box guitar project. I have now used it to fret three guitar necks. The tools are of good quality and are prefect for people wanting to try fretting their own guitar necks.

Nice kit ,tools are not flimsy feeling and it works as intended . Good deal !

Mediocre quality, does the job

Got this for the fret file hoping it would be half decent. It isn’t. Other tools are good. In the end, you get what you pay for.
