Collapsible when YOU choose
This Duralumin 5 section pole - one adjustable unit within the handle unit - is light (300 gm) and easily deployed from folded state at 35cm, adjusting from 113 cm up to 137 cm fully open locked with an adjustable clamp. The the other four sections link together with elasticated cord and when screwed together, adjustable cone clutches at each joint make an integrated pole. Comes with a titanium steel tip masked by a removable rubber ferrule, a spare ferrule and a carry case.I like the construction as it avoids the tendency of telescopic poles that can slip to a shorter length when one's weight is suddenly applied. It also avoids the possibility of dirt and moisture getting within the upper sections of the pole.Very good value.

seemingly sturdy enough and with a comfortable handle
This pole is certainly a lightweight and compact as I wanted.I tested it out over about 3 miles of walking, on a variety of surfaces and conditions (tarmac road, stony path and deep mud on farm land), and it performed well, seemingly sturdy enough and with a comfortable handle.I'd recommend though that users ensure that once the pole sections are (easily) slotted into position, they remember to give a full twist to each section of the pole to ensure they are all properly secured. I didn't do this on my first use of the pole and found that it came apart when the bottom section was held onto by a deep puddle of thick clay mud. Entirely my fault and, once fully tightened up as it was supposed to be, the pole behaved perfectly from then on. TIP: A way of checking it's assembled securely is to note whether it rattles or clicks as it comes down on the path. If it does, it needs tightening. The only criticism I have, (and this is the only reason I gave it 4 rather than 5 stars), is, as a couple of other reviewers have mentioned, that the pole does not allow for adjustment to accommodate people of smaller stature. I am 5 ft 4.5 inches and found that the pole, even at its shortest length, was slightly too long for me. This means that sadly I won't be using it regularly after all, which is a shame because apart from that issue it seems pretty good and I'm otherwise happy with it. For my purposes it's great only for short walks, but I imagine other (taller) people will be satisfied with it.

Good trekking poles
I purchased this pole to help me walk when my arthritus is at it's worst. I found with walking sticks that I leaned towards the stick making the pain worse. The upright pole allows me to keep my back straight when walking. The pain is reduced. I actually ordered 2 and they are great. My only complaint is the length. I am 5' 7" and have the poles at the lowest setting meaning they will not reduce for uphill walking. Anyone shorter than that will find them a big problem. Other than that I love them

Feel sturdy and they lock up well to make a solid pair of walking sticks . Handles are nice and soft , strap adjusts easily . They come with spare rubber ends, plastic wide ends and a nice pouch for each. I'm 6'4" and the adjust to the correct hight easily for me. Worthwhile spending the extra few quid on these ones.

Great tip/ferrule replacement pack.
The pack of assorted tips are a perfect fit for other trecking poles I already had.The pack contains two each of three different types of tip, of which I chose to use the largest walking foot. It makes a tremendous difference to the feeling of security and balance. I use the poles around city streets and I would highly recommend these replacement tips/ferrules. Strong, firm but flexible and a good price.

Made a nice present
I bought a pair of these for my mum (58yo) as a present. She really loves them as they are lightweight and easily get in her small backpack, so now she uses them in parks on Sunday before going back into town for socialising with friends and shopping.

Practical and Extremely Useful
Extremely convenient to carry inside rucksack, light in weight and allows use when needed and then folded up small for ease of carriage when not in useI used just one pole a lot through my Peru adventure including Machu Picchu and the pole is going strong still at the end of itWill probably need to use it if necessary during my visit to the Galápagos Islands next
