These are brown, but they're nice
More brown than "charcoal" but once you get them together they are made pretty well. Super comfortable to sit in, but WILL scratch your floor so get pads for the bottoms.

they were very comfortable and sturdy
I had to return these because the color didn't match the décor. HOWEVER, they were very comfortable and sturdy. Just because their "gray" and my "gray" aren't the same tint, I could not give them a bad review. These bar stools are gray with a brown tint to them.

An affordable alternative to custom stools.
Is this the sturdiest chair on the planet? No.Is it easy to put together? Not by any stretch of the imagination - bring a friend and pack a lunch! These two criteria are why the chair didn't earn 5 stars from me.So, why did it earn as many as four if it's so difficult to put together? For starters, it isn't brown or beige. The wood is black - not very dark brown, black. The fabric is very soft to the touch and the color falls between a dark grey and an off-black. I have a grey, black and white color pallet. I wanted padded parson's style chairs and I wanted microfiber/faux-suede fabric. This limited my options, considerably as almost every chair out there is brown or beige and almost every option in my color palette is black vinyl or leather. I priced every custom-made option on the market. Average price per chair for a custom build to my specifications -- $450 per chair. Comfort on the display models at this price point ranged from very comfortable to not at all comfortable. Every chair I considered at this pricepoint was high quality, built to last and rated to hold a lot more weight than this Linon chair is rated to hold.I also priced several chairs that are not custom made, require minimal or no assembly, in the fabric I want and the right color family, but the options at this price point were very, very few and the greys were all much lighter in color than will really work well for my kitchen. They were priced, fairly consistently, at or very close to $250 per chair. Despite the huge price difference, there was no discernible quality difference between the chairs I considered at this price point and the Linon chair... the Linon chair is at least as sturdy as my other options at this price point. This Linon chair is the fabric I want in the color I was hoping to find. It's even lovelier in person than in the pictures and it's very soft to the touch. I'd kept coming back to this chair in my search, but the very low price point put me off a bit (I expected a huge step down in quality from the chairs I'd looked at in the $250 pricepoint) and I could not find a store in my area that carries a display model of this chair in stock, to get a look at it in person. Finally, I ordered one chair as a sample, deciding that if I love it, I'll order 7 more for my kitchen when construction on my house is complete and if I don't love it, I'll use it in my laundry room. I paid $86 for the chair. It took an hour and a half, a helper, a hammer and a phillips head screwdriver to assemble the chair. But, fully assembled, it's beautiful, it's more comfortable than any of the chairs I considered at the $250 price point and it's at least equal in quality to the black and grey microfiber chairs in the next price level up.Bottom line: If you need counter height seating in the black/grey color palette, don't want leather or vinyl, don't mind a lot of time & elbow grease to assemble them, aren't looking for chairs that will last a couple of lifetimes - this is a very affordable, comfortable and beautiful option. If you need something that meets all of the other criteria, but can hold more weight, doesn't require assembly and/or will last forever, I'd recommend saving up and investing in custom chairs as this Linon chair is easily on par with any similar non-custom option you will find at any pricepoint in-between.

Never again!
I was extremely disappointed with this product. The construction was shoddy, the paint job on the legs was not even completed, and one of the chairs had one leg shorter than the others! In addition, the feet scratched my new wood floors. A waste of money!

SO COMFORTABLE!!!!!!!!
I love the grey and black it looks so good with my new kitchen table. They are the perfect height for my counter high table. The material is so soft and comfortable it makes you want to sit down for every meal and then try to come up with any other reason just to sit in them. So I am so happy with my choice in chairs, and thanks to all the other customers who sent me feed back while I was looking at buying them.

Wobbly but nice looking
These chairs were easy to put together (we used a power drill). The only issue is that both chairs are not stable and we will need to put something under the short leg to make them level. But, these chairs are lovely and comfortable.
