I bought this stapler based on all the positive reviews, but I was thoroughly disappointed when I tried to use this product. My old PowerShot stapler had worn out and the newer model I bought a couple of years ago is junk and very prone to jamming, so I went looking for a better alternative. This unit looked promising based on user reviews so I went for it. I needed a reliable staple gun to staple aluminum screen onto 5/8 plywood for my project. The wood is not hard and the screen is easily pierced by the staples. Even though this stapler appears to be well built with good materials, the first time I used it I was shocked. My crappy PowerShot started looking good again.Firstly, since the bottom inside of the unit where you place the staples is not flat, obviously to accommodate the other types of fasteners this gun uses, they tend to lean into a central groove, making it difficult to align the loading bar when you insert it to hold the staples. After a little finger prodding, you can get the bar to clear the staples and close. Not very convenient or fast. Secondly, the other issue is more serious and appears to be an intentional design, but it's flawed. The loading bar is only held in by a spring-loaded metal bump at the end of the bar. It's not a positive lock. I'm sure it's designed that way to keep staples from jamming the inside of the gun, but there's an issue. After firing just one shot, the loading bar shifts slightly out of the locked position, moving the loading bar back a bit and leaving a gap at the front hammer area. If you don't catch this little shift when you're stapling, the gap widens on the second or third shot which will mis-hammer and bend up the staples. Worse, it invariably releases the entire loading bar AND the staples out the back of the gun to who knows where if you're not working on a flat clear floor. I was in an attic, so finding it and the staples that went flying was a frustrating challenge.After much fiddling and experimenting on other materials and staple lengths (these were all T50 heavy duty staples), I just couldn't find a way to get this staple gun to reliably work without many of the staples being damaged or ending up with the total ejection of the loading bar without using something like duct tape to keep it from flying. I'm really miffed that I couldn't get this one to work as advertised, so it's back to my less accurate hammer stapler and the Swanson Stapler is being returned.

Lightweight, yet powerful. Great product.

I ordered about 10 of these for our manufacturing shop and most of the guys said these weren't heavy duty & kept jamming.

The curved cable staples don't fit in the machine I switched the +- to both and couldn't get them to fit
