Q: Would these be okay for window cleaning ?

Hi Barry - you certainly can use the for glass. For outside I would be cleaning the windows with warm soapy water, squeegy and then finish off with the leather. Inside, just the leather and warm water works well.

Hi - Thanks for the question. A genuine Chamois is made of Sheepskin, so not from cattle. Genuine oil tanned sheepskins were first used in France in the Middle Ages as material for gloves to be worn under armour. They were made to absorb moisture and keep the wearer comfortable in battle. Now, using processes developed over hundreds of years we use Chamois Leather to dry and shine polished surfaces, glass, mirrors and car bodywork. Genuine Chamois have unique properties that dry and shine surfaces courtesy of the traditional oil tannage process which forms soaps within the sheepskin. The sheepskin itself is unique, with a naturally open fibre structure that is not found in any other skins. Imitators often use deer or goat skin, these cloths look similar, but fail to replicate the unique properties of a genuine sheepskin chamois leather. Finally, the unique tanning process uses Cod fish oil which is fixed into the sheepskin making it soft and durable. The English refers to the production and grading process which has remained the same for over 100 years. The raw materials for the process are sourced from major sheep producers around the world, UK, Ireland, New Zealand etc.

Q: What size in cm is this?

Our products are sold by area and being a traditional industry, we still work in Sq Ft - the professional Chamopis is 4.5 sq ft and so I believe that calculates out to 4200 sq cm.
