Invent Your Own Computer Games with Python, 3rd Edition

I have used this book to teach 8-12 year old students in my town. The lessons build nicely on each other so that the students are gradually ramped up onto harder lessons. Recommended.

I wanted a quick intro to Python and keyboarding the exercises in this book did that. I followed this up with Sweigart's other Python book, "Making Games with Python and Pygame" and am now using Python to create some impressive user interfaces for industrial hardware.

My nephew loved this.

If You follow this guy and watch Him work, it is impressive. The keystrokes and thoughtpatterns that are on display by Al can really inspire You. All His books and YouTubelessons are just plain awesome. Kudos to Al Sweigart, really a Master of his Trade.

If you want to learn how to develop python code and you are a beginner , this is the book . Easy to read , easy to follow and the web support Including.When you find a book with the real goal for your own training is awesome. Thanks Al.

Bought this for my brother for christmas, he loves it!!!

Al Sweigart's books are the best introduction to games programming I've found. I always wanted to program a game and this "create a portfolio" approach is the way to do it of basic games. I'd buy it with Zed Shaw's and Charles Severances books. The drills in Zed's books to start with, then choose games or data as context for programming projects. Thanks so much Mr Sweigart for all the material you provide with these books.

An excellent book, written in layman's terms, which guides the reader gradually through the concepts using practical examples. Each exercise results in a functional python program.
