Very simple fix for expensive Powermic
I am a long time user of dragon speech recognition products and have used Dragon Medical daily for 9 years. First Powermic lasted about 5 years. I suspected a cord problem but opted for a new Powermic II. The second microphone started to be troublesome and again the cord was suspect (as all of the innards are solid state). This replacement cable was simple to install and works great. Problem solved! Just ordered another cable to fix the original microphone and have a spare. Interestingly, the record LED indicator light now glows much brighter. The LED flickering or faintness should be a warning that the cable connection is faulty.

Works.
It worked. The mic is working again. The original cable kept disconnecting from computer intermittently (I think from excessive prolonged bending cables got damaged inside). The replacement cable doesn't look the same as original and seems to be lower quality. Not sure how long it's gonna last, but it is definitely a better alternative than a new $300 mic.

and the microphone works fine, but it just seems like the cable is ...
I just ordered my second replacement cable in less than a year. Not sure what the problem is, but the cable seems to stop working after several months. It’s not THAT expensive, and the microphone works fine, but it just seems like the cable is on the fragile side.

I switched over to a generic Mini USB cable and it's working perfect again.
Cord worked poorly for less than a day and then Windows would not recognize the device. I switched over to a generic Mini USB cable and it's working perfect again.

Fits the Nuance Dragon Power Mic II
This kit fixed a problem we were having with the mic disconnecting while in the middle of dictation. The Youtube instruction video was very informative and helpful in the replacement process.
