Race to assemble a weapon so powerful it can knock out your opponents in a single blow. One Hit Kill is easy to learn and fast-moving, drawing from traditional card games like gin and poker, along with European-style games like Catan and Ticket to Ride. With its simple rules and surprisingly complex strategy, One Hit Kill might become your new favorite game. Created by screenwriter John August, the game includes original art by Noah Bradley, Simon Estrada and other top fantasy artists. This Core Deck is designed for 2 or 3 players. Each game takes 10 to 15 minutes.

Not much of a hit
Bought this for the annual gathering of old friends at Christmas, several of whom are gamer or fantasy aficionados like myself. It was OK, but had zero staying power. After a few good-natured attempts to play and enjoy it I picked up another game and nobody suggested we keep playing this one. It wasn't that much, to be fair, but it didn't do much for us. Maybe you'll like it more than we did.

One hit all killed
Awesome game! Not really good for 3 players like it says but still fun nonetheless. Can learn how to play in a couple min’s and playing like a pro after 3 games

Like Rummy, with a Twist
Growing up, one of my favorite games to play with my family was Rummy. Specifically Contract Rummy. This is basically the game at it's core, with every player having to fulfill their own contract in the form of their Weapon.Weapons are built by trying to gather components in the form of multiples of the same card values and runs in the same suit. The game limits your actions each turn. But in my experience, it just added a bit more strategy and consideration on how to conduct your turn.It is also a good pick up and put down type of game. Rounds can be played in a relatively short amount of time and doesn't require long commitments. The game adds some fun little twists to the old Rummy formula, such as being able to search the deck for the cards you need or forcing discards. And it is quite easy to learn, and was a big bit with my Rummy playing family. In short, a fun update to a classic card game!

Small, light, and easy to teach
Originally backed on Kickstarter. I bring this out when there's a wide spread of gaming comfort/experience at the table - the beginners find it accessible, and the experienced gamers enjoy the art and flavor. Aside from the Regex card, doesn't trigger much analysis paralysis in players who are prone to thinking too long.

Awesome, Complex but Easy to Learn Gameplay, Gorgeous Artwork -- Will Quench Your Nerd Thirst
Been on a real "new age" card game binge lately and happy to say this game is our favorite. The wife and I are both big nerds -- so as much as we appreciate the strategic but relatively simple gameplay, it's the actual "life" this game has that keeps us coming back. The stellar artwork, the sense of humor (and particularly, the frequent combination of the two), the thoughtful touches -- they all combine to make something that feels cohesive, fresh and well-considered, but also a nice throw-back to our D&D days. Seems simple enough, but play enough rounds and you'll realize there's a real depth of strategy potential. Like I said -- big nerds. That said, we're big nerds with 3 very tiny and destructive children, so finding the time to fire up something as "complex" as Catan or Ticket to Ride is near impossible. And actual D&D? Zero chance. So One Hit Kill (along with Exploding Kittens, and if we're super bombed, don't want to think too hard and among folks who don't already think we're horrible people, Cards Against Humanity 48th Expansion), has thankfully become our go-to adventure-fulfillment pastime. It's easy to learn, but strategic enough to keep us going -- and coming back.

and have enjoyed every hand
I backed this on Kickstarter, at a level that also included the expansion and the Maker's Kit, and have enjoyed every hand.I decided to review the core deck because my advice would be to shell out just a little bit more for the expansion, or two core decks if that would work. This is because when you're playing with 3 people, the max for the core deck, the draw pile gets thin very quickly and the expansion offers a little more variety when playing.Playing with just the core deck I ran into several occasions where, for instances, I would be pursuing four tech cards at the same time my opponent was after the same tech cards and things would grind to halt.Maybe I'm just missing some strategy, but having the expansion seemed to make things smoother.

Our group didn't like it.
This game is basically "go fish", with one small twist in that you can make players discard cards. There are very few decision points that make any kind of difference. This game is won based on if you draw the right cards. The art is good though, and it's easy to learn so if you have some kids to entertain or need a quick filler game before everyone arrives for game night, this might be what you're looking for. But it wasn't for us.
