These work great. Just as described. This is the second type of Torchstar LED lights I have purchased and I love both. These were purchased for what I thought were 3-way lamps. I purchased two boxes (4 LED lights). I tried them but realized that I actually only have one verified 3-way lamp. At least two of them are the type with a lamp in the base so the 3-way is actually involving turning on the base and the actual lamp. My bad!!! One I still have to investigate - it didn't work but I suspect it is not a true 3-way bulb type but should have a light in the base (right now it does not). Anyway - these are very nice if you have actual 3-way lamps!update 6/15/2017 - second order for these - I discovered some more 3-way lamps that had CFL bulbs in them. I am still loving these. I am a big fan of the Torchstar 5000k lamps. I really like the white light they put out. I bought some Phillips locally and was quite unhappy - same 5000k but they looked too blue. These just look white. I don't know if I will need more of any of the Torchstar but I will not substitute on the brand.

These bulbs fit my lamp exactly like any other ordinary 3 way incandescent bulb. They do not put off any heat what so ever. I love these LED lights and the brightness is exactly the same as those old 3 way bulbs. The life expectancy is way longer too, so they are quite efficient both in price and they take way less energy. Win/win! I highly recommend them!

good basic bulb, definitely recommend

I originally needed a three-way light bulb for a small desk lamp that took a three-way bulb. Mind you, the lamp used a wire "harp" style shade holder rather than the type that held onto the lightbulb with a wire clip. The LED bulbs I purchased were a little too round for a clip-on lampshade, but they were ideal for my desk lamp. They are sufficiently bright —and not too "daylight white." The color of the light is contingent on the color of your lampshade. My desk lampshade is a slightly warm eggshell tone. I have sufficient light to work with the lowest and middle (40/60W) setting. I actually forgot that I put these new LED bulbs in the lamp because I can't tell the difference between these or CFL bulbs. The only difference between them and tungsten bulbs is that they give off very little heat. I put the second LED bulb in an antique brass floor lamp (that has three bulbs in a candelabra-style arrangement.) The A21 LED went in the center. I can't tell the difference from all the worn-out bulbs we went through over the years— but I do notice the light spread across the ceiling is more evenly illuminated. Couldn't find 3 way LED bulbs locally for anything other than ransom money. These worked well, and a good value. Have purchased 3 sets to replace the single wattage LED bulbs I've been using in my lamps

It works as advertised. I think that it is a great bargain even though it is more expensive than the incandescent lamp or light bulb. The LED lamps last longer, put out sufficient lumens and run cooler than the ofd fashioned lamp. The number of WATTs of a lamp, while proportional to brightness, it is a measure of energy output. An LED lamp which puts out the same number of lumens as a 100 watt lamp, will use about 1/10th the amount of energy (electricity) as the incandescent bulb. My experience with the incandescent 3 way bulb has been that they last for a few months. So far, my experience with LED lamp bulbs is that they last much longer. As a matter of fact, I have yet to have one fail and I have had some for a couple of years.

Bought four bulbs total. The warm colored bulbs function perfectly. One of the two bright white bulbs flickers constantly. At this price, I'm disappointed...especially when they use the phrase "flicker free" in the description. BOTH NOW FLICKER, TORCHSTAR NOT RESPONSIVE. AVOID.

I like the relatively low range, 40/60/100W equivalent, and the warm light. I previously bought one (from another vendor) with the low end 30W equivalent, but the light was so white as to be unpleasant. I am happy to replace that one.I have to revise my rating from 5 star to 3. With 2 of the bulbs, the low setting has quit working, and on one of them there is no difference between the middle and upper setting
