What they are getting at is that the included power supply is a 36-watt supply (12V X 3A = 36W). To achieve a higher power output, use a power supply greater than what they provide. If you stick with using a 12V supply and you want 60 watts out of it, you need a 12V 5A supply (12 X 5 = 60). However, you don't need to limit yourself to a 12V supply. The unit will operate with a power supply voltage between 4.5 – 24 Volts DC, so any power supply within that range will work if its current (amps) will allow 60 watts. To determine that, divide 60 by the voltage and that will tell you how many amps it needs to deliver.
