It works!
A very sturdy trailer hitch for any car. I put this on my 2013 highlander and it fit great.( The installation can be done alone, but is much easier with an extra set of hands.) Although there was nothing “wrong” per say with the product, I will say that the shipping and handling effort was pitiful. The hitch arrived with a number dings as well as chips of paint missing. Although a pain in the butt, I did do some touch up painting on the exposed metal areas to keep it from rusting and it turned out great. Overall solid item with great craftsmanship, just wish there was more care taken in shipping.

Fits perfectly on a 2012 Toyota Highlander
First, let me tell you that it came with a poorly packaged box. Horrible! The frame was just shoved on a big box without any pad or cushions. I have to unpacked the thing on the spot where the postman left the box coz the box wall was all torn up and the frame receiver was about to fall out from the box. There were a couple of paint nicks on both sides and edges of the receiver. Probably due to shipping handle. If you are not an OCD type, it will suffice. It can be installed by a single person. TIP: use large zip ties to slowly raise the receiver. Start from the exhaust (passenger side). Its a little bit tricky but not hard. The plastic cover panel on the passenger side can be re attached but not on the driver side. If you want to re attached the driver side panel, you can make a vertical cut an the panel but for me its too much of a hassle so didnt replace it.Frame receiver is solid built.

Solid
Arrived without any sort of packaging whatsoever and was chipped on multiple surfaces. I was expecting this and purchased a $6 can of touch up paint. This must be a new design that has holes opened slightly wider to allow for variation as installation was extremely smooth on my 2013 Highlander hybrid. All holes lined up with some wiggle room as well. Note you will need a Torque wrench for the 43-ft-lbs install and blocks or jack stands to help if you do by yourself like I did. Very well built and doesn’t stick out as far as I was expecting. Perfect all around.

Fits and installed like a champ!
I purchased this for our 2011 Highlander after much research... I preferred the Draw-Tite due to previous experiences and quality of build. I looked at a couple other brands but wasn't too impressed. One of them even required some kind of strap support system to the door or it would void the warranty - What kind of nonsense is that!? The Draw-Tite doesn't require anything additional, just bolt it on and use it.We don't tow with the Highlander, this hitch was purchased to use a bike rack and hitch cargo carrier for when we need a little bit more room (think large coolers and such.)The hitch itself went on without any issues. It fit perfectly and I had it installed in about 45 minutes taking my sweet time. My only complaint is the jig they used appears to be off just a little. The receiver tube is welded in at a slight crooked angle so, while not overly noticeable when by itself, with the cargo carrier installed, it's a little crooked (leans down on passenger side) and more noticeable when our tall bike rack is installed.I'm kind of OCD about things like this but due to the time and hassle it would take to send back and get a replacement I decided it wasn't worth it to replace it. Were it not for this detail, it would be an easy five stars.

A seriously heavy duty trailer
Spent many hours looking for a low profile high capacity trailer for my 2008 Highlander limited and this seemed to be the best based on reviews and stats. It has a 5000 pound towing capacity and a 750 pound tongue weight limit. The hitch weighs around 50 pounds and came in surprisingly meager boxing (holes and tears all over it), although this has been a complaint on many websites so cant blame amazon but rather DrawTite. There were a couple of dings on it which was disappointing, but it is a trailer hitch and is going to be exposed to the road and will certainly get more.I had it installed at a local mechanic and it was not an easy install. There are 10 bolts needed to secure the hitch. On my highlander 4/10 bolt holes needed to be rethreaded before it could safely be installed. It took them no time, but I doubt many people ordering this have those kind of tools at home. Once installed it sticks out minimally and there was no modification to the bumper fascia that was needed. It even works with the spare tire (hanging underneath).Overall I think for the money this is the best hitch you can get, especially for a 2008 highlander. The price was $50 more on etrailers and many of the local hardware stores nearby me. The Toyota genuine hitch costs ~$450 and didnt look nearly as sturdy, though it supposedly comes with an extra fascia piece to hide it better...who cares though.

Nice Solid Hitch installed in about an hour
Having the correct tools and a helper would make this installation a snap, as it was I had all the tools just no helper. As mentioned in other reviews a jack stand does the trick, Unfortunately (and why 4 stars not 5) my hitch had a machining burr on the inside of the Drivers side back (Side frame rail) hole that IF I would have noticed I could have taken off BEFORE lifting it into place by myself in a precarious position using my leg, Hip and Both arms... After dropping it down and opening up the slot just a little bit at the top edge to remove the burr, it went pretty well. Also REMEMBER to remove ALL the rubber hole plugs on the frame even if you're not using that hole for anything as it can impact whether you can get everything lined up. The instructions also tell you to leave off the Drivers side Fascia panel underneath but you can make two cuts toward the front of the vehicle about an Inch apart and 8" long from the rectangle that is already cut out of the panel for the tow hook you removed and another slot at the back of the rectangle to clear your hitch and you can put the panel back in with all screws and snap button panel connectors.
