Ampper Panel Mounted Battery Switch, 12-48 V Battery Power Cut Master Switch Disconnect Isolator for Car, Vehicle, RV, Boat and More (On/Off)

I found this item on Amazon last year and thought it would be just what I needed to make disconnecting my NEG battery cable easier when I knew my car was not going to be driven for a while. Once installed, which is very easy, this switch has worked great without any hassle.I am now a repeat buyer and can say that both purchases have been great.We have 2 cars which are not used often and have always disconnected the NEG battery cable from the battery so as to keep the battery charged when the cars are going to sit around for a few weeks or months at a time without being started.In the past, I had no problem removing the NEG battery cable from the battery by loosening the nut. But to do this you need use your tools, and when you do this over and over, sometimes it makes the nut a little sloppy, after a while, I was not really able to tighten everything down as I would like to do, from the repeated loosening and tightening of the bold/nut.Now that I have installed this switch, it makes the process so much easier! First, I don't need any tools, I just pop the hood and turn the switch to red (off) when I'm not going to use the car for a while.When I'm ready to drive again, I pop the hood, and turn the switch to green. (see pictures)One thing to note, once the battery is turned off, you will need to open your car door via the physical key, because the key fob (push button) will no longer work. Since we rarely used the actual key prior to this, we sprayed some graphite power in the key-hole just to keep everything lubricated in there so the key would turn easy.I hope this review helps, I know this item is made in China and some of them have been DOA, but both the ones I ordered have worked great out of the box and held up for months so far.

I tow a jeep behind my RV and for some reason when I would tow the jeep when I got to my destination the battery was dead. Somewhere there was a parasitic draw that would drain the battery. I didn't have the time to find the draw so I decided that disconnecting the battery would solve the problem. You don't want to disconnect the cable from the battery every time so I got this switch. It is mounted on the negative side of the battery and what I do is hook up the jeep to the RV and then using the door fob lock the doors and then turn the switch off. When I arrive at my destination I open the hood turn the switch on and use the door fob to gain entry to the jeep. Worked great on a recent 10-day trip. The switch is sturdy enough that it didn't move or come loose switching it off and on about 20 times. Happy with the purchase.

The negative part that goes over negative battery post was too small and broke as I was trying to install it.Being made of brass,it was brittle and broke.I will return it for a replacement or total refund ASAP

Had to drill out battery side to except bolt. Other than that functioned fine. Seams to be constructed fairly well. Should work for many years.

This product is great. It was so easy to install and the best thing is I didn’t have to mount it anywhere and run wires to my battery. This is a great idea to hook it straight to the battery. No need to find a place to mount a switch. Just put it on your battery. Saved me probably an hour or more and installed in 5 minutes.

This was the perfect solution for my problem of a tight space. No room for a mounted switch but I used a side post mount switch on top Works and fits great! Peace of mind knowing everything is off . Fish finders and motor power is off and no more slow drain from sitting between trips to the lake.Highly recommended.
