I loved using this after I had taught the skills to see how well my students understood what was taught. It also helps in getting them prepared for the big test.

I had such high hopes for this product! There is include important information within the book, but in order for kids to understand the books, they have to utilize an online component. First, it took me at least 2 hours to figure how to access the online component. It seemed impenetrable! Then, once I finally accessed the online component, I found out that you have to pay extra for it, more than the costs of the books. Crazy, I gave up, so this was a big waste of money.

This workbook is a great addition to the Lumos Learning family! I like how they have separate workbook for each set of skills. Since standardized testing is giving more specific feedback to teachers and parents alike, it is a great idea to be able to buy a book for that specific skill. It is filled with challenging problems ranging from simple computation, to word problems requiring multi steps (another skill found in most recent standardized tests). I have used Lumos test prep books for years in my classroom both for Reading and Math. I will continue to do so as their reputation proceeds them.

This is a useful tool to review the skills needed to master the domain of Operations and Algebraic Thinking. This would be an excellent resource for parents, tutors, intervention specialists. Because the questions are specific and to too lengthy, this would be beneficial as a formative assessment for teachers. The explanations in the answer key will guide the adult to help the child strengthen their skills by really learning from his or her mistakes.

I LOVE the way the answer keys are presented in such a user friendly way. This helps take remove unnecessary barriers that some parents experience as they engage in assisting their children with at home practice!
