A. Pros : Nice size and feel. Apparently performs accurately for designed purpose. Have only used for three(3) days. Have not compared accuracy with a calibrated unit. Have received rather consistent, subjective values. Remember that it would be unusual to always get the same results while healthy or ill. Variations of +/_ 1 degree should not be alarming. Make a note each time you use your thermometer for a week to understand your personal, normal variances. Temperature changes are just one indicator that must be used in conjunction with several other various indicators to be a valued medical indicator. Stay safe. Stay well. Live long and prosper ! ; )B. Cons : I may have missed something in the instructions for using the unit. I had used the unit several times and the results varied but not more than a couple of tenths(0.1). Then the results were consistent and identical for my self and another individual. With a little investigation and observation, I observed this was when the "M" was displayed on the screen. If the "M" was not displayed on the screen before the unit was used, the results again varied between my own and the other person consistently by no more than two tenths. I believe the "M" should not be displayed on the screen before using the instrument to produce a valid reading.

Very easy to use. I have another thermometer, but wanted one of the newer contactless ones. I just wasn't sure about the accuracy.So I compared several readings with this to my old Exergen temporal artery thermometer, which is used by touching the center forehead and sliding across the skin to the temple. That Exergen model has always been consistent and, as far as I know, accurate. I found if I placed this new one an inch above the skin close to the the temple area I got consistent readings very similar to the Exergen, like within 0.2 degrees. If I took the temp in the middle of the forehead it was much lower, sometimes almost a full degree lower. I work in healthcare, and my facility takes our temps daily over the side of the forehead/temple region with a no-contact infrared thermometer like this one.. So now I always place it over the lateral forehead/temple region as this seems to give the most accurate reading.

I liked this thermometer when I first purchased it, a year and a half ago. My son’s head and neck were burning up and it kept reading 98.6 for almost two hours. I finally pulled out my classic under the arm/under the tongue thermometer that read 101.3. I replaced the batteries and it is still reading inaccurately.

Taking temps during Covid outbreak

Everyone should have one or more of this at home. This one is pretty easy to operate and accurate as well (sometimes a little bit off from the one i bought from cvs).

The main reason I got this is because our regular digital thermometers take too long to register a reading and their beeping signal that they're ready is too faint for our aging ears to hear easily. When looking online those complaints seem to be consistent with what's currently on the market so we bought this instead.So far I'm very pleased with the readings. It matches almost exactly the readings on our regular digital thermometers that take on average 30-60 seconds to register, whereas this one registers in less than 5 seconds and I don't have to stick it in my mouth for almost a minute (sometimes more). Example of reading difference when I tested: Regular digital thermometer: 97.7 / This newer electronic thermometer: 97.8.

I am a nurse and I am using this to screen people entering the hospital, it is perfect. It turns on with the click of the trigger in about one second, & Will turn off after maybe 20 seconds of inactivity to save the battery. All you have to do is hold the trigger button in in about 2 to 3 seconds you’ll hear a beep and the temperature will flash on the screen along with a color coordinated screen color to clarify if too high or low, and normal. I love it! It can easily fir in your scrub pockets. Don’t waste your time on other products researching them this one is the bomb!

I had previously purchased the Non-Contact Thermometer and was pleased with it. I decided it would be nice to have one with me while traveling so I purchased another unit. It is simple to use and seems to be fairly accurate.
