UPDATE: This is the message I received from the seller. While grateful for the feedback, I was definitely thrown off the by the broken english and bad grammar. I hate to say this, but it just makes the whole thing feel scammy. Not to mention that we obviously had already followed these basic instructions for charging the car (that were provided in the instructions) Message from Seller: "Dear Melissa FullerSorry to take you the trouble for the shopping , please make the swtich in "OFF" state when you received the car , there are two ways to charge for the car , one is connect with the calbe and another is antomatic recharge , pls follow the instruction book to connect with car when be charged , we have the exactly answer in the instructions attached to the email , pls click the instruction and try to connect again , if there is any other problems . pls contact us , we will reply asap ! thanks .With best regards"I bought this as a Christmas gift for my husband, and it just didn't work, period. It wouldn't stay turned on, it wouldn't hold a battery charge, it wouldn't stay connected to the internet. The app perpetually crashed. As I said, it just didn't work. I wrote the seller saying we wouldn't do a replacement unless they could assure me it had been a fluke, but haven't heard anything yet. Unfortunately for now, I would say this item is too good to be true.

It's fun, fairly easy to connect to the wifi, although it is a little scary when you first setup having the base for the recharge open insecure WiFi channel. Once was able to get the base dialed in as my home secured WiFi I felt better. I still don't know how I did it, but it worked. The car is slow, and does not see at night except 5 inches directly in front. I purchased this to do security patrols at night around 1/2 acre in the sand, and small rocks. It is not able to perform as wished. It gets stuck fast in the sand. If it needs to go over anything higher than an inch or so, it gets stuck. I'm not bad mouthing this car, it is fun as long as I keep it on the concrete, or short carpet. It would be a great gift for an up and coming RC toys enthusiast. I mess with my dog a little, and can talk to him from my couch to outside.

I was hesitant to purchase this when I read some of the reviews posted over the past two years. Most of the negative reviews stated that the product didn’t work as advertised and they couldn’t complete the setup. I actually had no problems with the setup, but I did go ahead and turn “cellular data” off during the setup so there would be no confusion about the connection while completing the setup.After the setup was complete, I tested the functionality with my phone connected to my home wifi and there were no issues. I was able to transmit audio and record video. I then tested it with wifi turned off (cell signal only) and it worked fine.The only problem I have so far is the auto-dock feature doesn’t work yet. It could be due to where I placed the dock though, so I will update this review when I figure it out.The night vision is pretty weak, but I expected that. You have to be pretty close to whatever you are viewing in order to see, but I don’t really care since I bought this to check on my dogs while I’m away during the day.Overall, this is a pretty neat gadget. It works as advertised.

The product needs a lot of improvements. Much clients say that they have not internet connection, they can controll the rover by local wifi but not by internet. The problem is the wifi signal received by this car is very very very poor, they shoud be add a bether wifi module. But there is a way to improve this, i bought a new antena longer about 12cm sma male and nowadays i have better signal in almost all house.The other problem is the button to park automatically, you have not any explanation about how to do this, just a button that never works. Well you can teach it where is the park base with IR button, it doens't work perfect, but when the car is not to long come back to the base.The manufacturer shoud add an intelligent map as the robotic cleaners to come back to the base.The camera quality is good, and the movements are quite good to.

I spent countless number of hours trying to set up cloud remote function and it doesn’t work!!! The manual is full of grammar mistakes and the App is even worse. If you want an overpriced slow moving car with a camera, I would suggest you to buy a drone instead.

Amazing product, does exactly what I want which is spy on my cats while I'm at work. Easy to setup and use, settings to adjust speed and turning is nice. I was surprised how well the night vision works too. Very cool that it can self dock itself to start charging up again. Would highly recommend

Amazing product for such a low price. I use it to look at my dog and also to talk to him through the rover while I am at work.

Countless hours of fun with this rover and my cat, not to mention how useful it has turned out to be when it comes to keeping an eye on my stuff.
