DVI Pass-Through EDID Emulator for use with Video splitters, Switches and Extenders KVM(2560X1600@60hz)

I did not read the nonexistent fine print, and mistakenly bought this "EDID emulator" because I thought it provided the 1280x1024 resolution that the description shows but does not actually offer.The seller's answer to the question "Where can I find a list of all supported resolutions?" is, quote: "the picture 4 you can see the list of support resolutions". Picture 4 shows 18 different resolutions in green (including 1280x1024), and 8 screen-rate numbers in the second column (mostly blank). No text explaining that the second column shows the ONLY resolutions and rates supported ... blank means NOT supported. AMAZON: please shorten the table and remove those empty entries.For my many Planar PL1910M 1280x1024 displays (in many configurations), all this emulator did was either (1) transmit nothing to the screen, or (2) display 1280x720 (which the 1910 stretches vertically). My usual "Whole Earth" screen background stretched into a vertical "Whole Egg". The FUERAN only sorta-works connected directly to a DVI output from a video card, /not/ at the monitor end of the cable, and /not/ after a FEMORO displayport-to-DVI adapter (also purchased from Amazon, and a good product).My guess is that this emulator stores only 15 combinations (4 bits of memory) and has simple logic that pattern-matches to these eight EDID values and two frame-rates ... and NO OTHERS. So, if your display and resolution is NOT listed in the RIGHT HAND COLUMN, look for a more capable pass-through emulator that stores the ENTIRE table transmitted by your monitor and passes the ENTIRE mode-line that is in use. My old PL1910M displays offer 9 different resolutions and MANY display rates; new monitors are far more versatile.Well, I learned something, and I hope the next EDID emulator I purchase actually stores a complete and accurate modeline ... like the IOGEAR GCS932 KVM switch which I also purchased from Amazon, now sharing yet another PL1910M display between two computers.Back this goes to Amazon, and I hope that:(1) Amazon corrects the ad and eliminates the ambiguity. Returns eat profits, which should be spent on BE-4 rocket engine development, and maybe salaries too.(2) The FUERAN device I return is resold ONLY to someone who likes "wide" (that is, vertically reduced) screens for watching movies, not creating long format documents and graphs and graphics like my team does.(3) My handling this device doesn't transmit any nasty viruses to the next buyer. I couldn't get it to work at the cable->monitor end, but it worked fine when plugged into the motherboard. Solved an annoying problem of when my monitor would sleep, all the apps would move to a different screen!

New Vertiv/Avocent KVM installation using the new 5150TX dongles were not able to display the DVI output of Tektronix waveform monitors correctly. Fixed the issue for $15.99. Can't beat the price, I just hope they last.

Windows 7 sucks. This device solved the EDID problem. With this device installed in-line. Windows 7 no longer keeps searching for the monitor type when switched on a KVM. Windows sucks, and this device make it a litter better. The true fix is to delete Windows and install Linux.

This made all the difference. I had a DVI KVM that did not have EDID. It was messing with my screens big time. I mean big time. I just installed these but it has completely cleared up the problem so far.

Could not get these to pass video under any conditions.Perhaps they held the EDID perfectly, but without video coming out the backside, I found them useless.

Works perfect, my monitor never switches resolution when my KVM switches. Lifesaver.
