Robotics fans rejoice
The youyeetoo FHL-LD19 Lidar Sensor is a compact powerhouse. Using Time-of-flight ranging technology, it offers a consistent 12-meter detection range with impressive accuracy. Its resistance to bright light at 30,000 lux ensures it excels indoors and outdoors. With 360-degree silent scanning and a long lifespan, it's a versatile choice. Despite its walnut-sized design, it's incredibly powerful and lightweight. It provides ROS/ROS2/C/C++ SDK and a Raspberry Pi tutorial for easy integration into robots, drones, and more.I haven't installed this in my project yet as I'm still figuring out how to use and program it, but this is definitely a great addition to my robotics project!

A bit pricey, but works great
This is a bit expensive, but it works very well. It comes with everything you need to get set up, and there is enough documentation available online to be able to figure out what's going on. We were able to implement this into our C++ program pretty well after getting up to speed. The sensor is fast, reliable, and can detect objects pretty far away.

very small package
Have not had a chance to hook it up yet, but looks ok and everything was in the box.

Very accurate for being so small
This thing is sweet. I don't yet have it integrated with my raspberry pi setup on my robot but I have been playing with the windows app. A little sketchy because the only way to get it is a link to an executable in a google drive share but it works. The app doesn't match their documentation in that it doesn't include the option for this sensor but I used the LDS06 setting and it worked. It seems to be accurate to about 2cm and the distance goes from right on top of it out to what is probably right around the advertised 12m though data seems to get a bit fuzzy at the extreme. I can move objects closer and farther and see their profile shape in the sensor plane at the correct distance. Physically it is about an inch and a half tall and about the same wide. It's plastic but nothing feels cheaply made about it. I've 3d printed a TPU cover for it to project from scratches as that would probably degrade the accuracy. when holding it in my had there is only a slight whir and a little audible vibration when sitting on a box. Quiet as far as I'm concerned. Very happy with the product and I look forward to playing with it more but from what I've been seeing it is accurate and easy to use.

Works better than expected, the wiki help me a lot.
I have it installed on my car. It performed as I expected indoors or out.
