At £90 it's great
Firstly of course it's Bose, so you know it'll sound great. It's not stereo but that's the price you pay for small size. Saying that, it's got great depth of sound so no great issue. My version is the Black one, why the colours are worth 60% more who knows.I think that the battery power is OK, though I've never played it for more than 3 hours straight. My only concern is the buttons. While they perform perfectly, the covering skin feels like it won't last for years. Obviously that I can't judge fairly yet. Summary is, I'm happy for the price, but I wouldn't pay the £140 for a different colour.

... for sometime now in my room and am still amazed when I play anything through it
I have been using a BOSE Soundlink Mini ii for sometime now in my room and am still amazed when I play anything through it. So much so that I was looking to buy another for in the bedroom to save me carrying it around and relinking it to different devices. They are no longer available, so I bought this instead. Glad I did.I spent almost as much time unpacking it as setting it up.. Doddle. It sounds great straight out of the box, and this will get even better as it runs in. It doesn't have quite the depth or separation between the ranges that the Mini has, but then the Mini cost a lot more. The Color is weighty and well built and a really engaging listen. If I need another speaker I will buy this model again without hesitation. One thing I have found is that the Mini sounds best with its' back four to six inches from a wall (it projects sound backward as well as forward) whereas the Color comes into it's own in free space (it projects sound forward mainly). Both however will benefit from not sitting directly on wood or melamine (shelves, desks etc), although glass is good.Update - the Soundlink 11 is back on the market so I bought another. Son now has the Color and he's over the moon with the sound and that he can take it into the shower room as it is water resistant.

So far, so (extremely) good!
Pondered for days before deciding to buy this without hearing it (I know!) But well pleased - the sound is unbelievable for the size, with plenty of bass (but not too much) and nice detail in all the other frequencies. I would imagine the more expensive Bose (can't think of the name, but it's around £169.95) might sound even better, but it's not as waterproof as this, also it's a bit bigger.I can see us being comfortable taking this to the beach, or by the side of the pool, without worrying too much about it getting splashed, or rained on.O.K. you can't throw it into the pool & expect it to still work, like some other speakers, but I can't really think when that would happen anyway . Got it working in a couple of minutes, and so far have paired it with my iPod, my Android 'phone, and my iMac, all without any difficulty. Not sure about the voice (which sounds like a female Stephen Hawkings - no disrespect meant) but I suppose it is helpful, as it tells you the charge level in the battery, and also when you're paired (and with what) So all-in-all, I'm thrilled with it. Obviously, I've only had it for one day, so no idea about reliability yet, but most of the reviews I've read didn't seem to have a problem in that area, so I'm hoping I'll still be this happy in a year or two

for 90 pounds this small branded speaker worth every penny of its price
bose souldlink color II - the sound quality is way better than most single driver speaker in that price range. The design and user interface is simple, so easier to use.the look is very low key, this is in line with the idea of merge into the ambient. I do believe that people appreciate that indeed. As I have many bose products, this entry level speaker is a good addition to let me enjoy the radio and pop music anywhere.

Good sound, looks good, but controls a bit subtle
The on/off, volume and blue tooth controls on the top are elegantly and subtly marked, but easy to get wrong if the the light is poor. I've just learnt them, but get it wrong if the speaker isn't in the orientation I'm expecting. Husband finds them unclear. It speaks to you in an odd computer generated voice, telling you what it's connected to, and giving you battery status. AFter several months I still can't work out if she's saying "Battery fine" or "Battery five" - but she then says "Battery medium" or Battery low", so neither of what I hear fits the pattern. She might be saying "Full" but it really doesn't sound like it. My hearing-impaired other half can't understand a word of what's said, she speaks fast and the sound quality of her speech isn't great - a shame given this is a Bose.We think volume control is limited to what your source volume is set to (not unreasonably), so if the iPad volume is lowish, the volume controls can't take the output up by much - we've played around with it, and the easiest thing to do if you want more or less volume is use the source device, and use the speaker's controls to fine tune.Battery life is okay - we don't use it for hours of listening, just the radio for an hour or so at a time, once or twice a day, and it lasts a week or two maybe between charges.Sometimes it just won't connect to the iPad, and you have to force it through the iPad settings - no idea why. It's then always fine.Sound quality is good - as you'd expect from Bose. Deaf hubby can cope with volumes I find tolerable, which isn't the case for some radios we have.Looks nice, tactile surface, easy to wipe down - yes it's expensive against the market, but the sound quality is great, and we hope it's going to last a good while - software and protocols allowing.

Sounds better outside.
Great product and good sound quality especialy outside. Can sound a little heavy in smaller rooms. The battery life is good but loses charge during periods of inactivity. I expect this is because it is continuously on standby for a bluetooth connection.
