Get familiar with Quickbooks
If you are self-employed or own your own business, then Quickbooks can really help your business out. THe beginning chapter of the book spends a lot of time going over all the different versions of Quickbooks. This is helpful if you are unsure which version (on-line, pro vs entrepreneur, etc.) will work best for your needs. I think every conceivable version is examined. Then, the book walks the reader through the features of the software and how to use them. Where I think the book really shines is in explaining the benefits of using Quickbooks to track expenses and how that can help you keep your business on track. THis book is so helpful.

Learning QuickBooks online
I used to use QuickBooks at a job that I had probably 15 years ago. This book has been really great at helping me brush up on the software. QuickBooks is a program that can take care of a lot of accounting, payroll and even some taxes. Learn how to do each task. QuickBooks can definitely make your accounting work much easier.

Not helpful
I had hoped for a manual that would teach me how to use Quickbooks Online (QBO). I was shocked when I received the book. It is only 87 pages. Pages 5 though 31 read like an ad for QBO. It takes you through the features of different subscriptions to QBO that you can buy. This was totally useless to me since I already purchased a subscription. I want to know how to use it. Pages75 to 87 consists of a glossary of common accounting/bookkeeping terms that you can easily get free online. That leaves only 43 pages of any substance and the substance is nowhere near as good as one of the competing books that I ultimately received, which is 512 pages of substance. In my humble opinion, don't waste your money.

limited operations
Most of the book described features and benefits, which are good for making choices, but not for operations. QBO title suggests subscribed beginners, but it was mostly for window shoppers.

advertisement for QuickBooks
This book is mostly an ad trying to sell you their accounting program. It does have a few helpful details on how to better use the program but is long on hype and short on useful information.

If you own a small business, you should get an online subscription service for QuickBooks. It keeps account of your accounts and is affordable. It has different options for different prices, you choose the best for your business, and the options are endless. It is only for use in a small business and for self employed. This book explains how to get started setting up a working system, how to set up an invoice, add employees for payroll and more. This book has a lot of information for small businesses.

Not a good book for beginners
I purchased this book for 2 reasons: It had 500 plus 5 star reviews and it was aimed at beginners, which I am.The book is very thin: 87 pages. The first 31 pages does nothing but discus the different versions of Quickbooks, and the last 15 pages are an expanded glossary of accounting terms. This leaves 41 pages dealing with complex issues such as invoicing, time sheets for employees and setting work zone app for employees. This is hardly beginners information. I learnt absolutely nothing relevant from this expanded phamplet.

Nothing about Package
Ordered this thinking it would be a Beginners guide to using Quickbooks. Totally wrong ! Title very misleading. This book just summarizes the different types of Quickbooks packages available i.e. Standard, Pro, Elite. Desktop or Online.
