Techniques Using Slips (Ceramics Handbooks) Paperback – 30 April 2010

Especially liked this book because of the information, lots of which was new to me. I read the book from cover to cover.I am a studio ceramicist and will re-read the book, then keep it in my studio for reference and inspiration.

when i first spotted this book in the hands of a good friend of mine, i asked if i could look through it. when i realised how versatile this way of glazing is, and the unexpected effects that can be achieved i immediately decidedthat i must have this book for my work. i am an artist and ceramics is one of my favourite disciplines. this is avery essential book for those who want to know more about this technique. i am very happy with the purchase whichwas promptly delivered and was very reasonably priced.

Bought as a teaching resource for a pottery department. Lovely images, good resource, tutors loved it and used it straight away. Lots of examples on how to be creative with slips. Worth the buy.

This is a great book, that covers not only current slip techniques but gives historical references, as well. The images are inspirational and provide great support to the text.

I love this book. I have already had many ideas for using slips after reading this and used and altered one of the glaze recipes to create a wonderful satin/matt stoneware tin glaze to put over coloured slips. Each potter publishes the glaze and slip recipes used in the showcased pieces. Goes very well with the book Colour in Glazes if you want to research making your own slips/glazes.

Absolutely loved the approach of the book connected to the artists and techniques. Learned quite a lot of valuable teachings form each of the artists, definitely would recommend.

I do not recommending buying this book. Only a few interesting ideas, the rest is boring pictures and no intruction/ technique explanation.
