This brace was a lifesaver for my dog's torn CCL.
My 11 years old lab partially tore her CCL and surgery was the VERY last option given her age. The vet recommended we monitor and allow it some time to heal and this was the brace he recommended when I asked. She did well and was not bothered by the brace. The design allowed her to still use the bathroom without having to take it off which was very important given the knee bending that is required to that specific activity. The results were amazing and a year later my old girl is crazy as always and you would never guess she had torn her CCL.

Does NOT perform as described
This item did NOT perform as described.. There is little to no support for our dog.. This is nothing more than a wrap made out of neoprene, nothing built into it for limb support, nothing built into it to help stabilize the limb in any way.. Its just neoprene.. I could of just bought a wrap from Walgreens & that would've been better than this thing.. Returning for full refund..

Helped my dog prior to ACL surgery
My dog (11 year old 70 pound shepherd mix) tore his ACL. We're opting for surgery but need to wait 2-3 weeks. I got this brace to help him get around with less discomfort and wobbling, and to help him pee and poop which he's having trouble with.I got the large size and I have to say the fit is about perfect. I measured per the instructions before buying. His rear hips are a little higher than his front shoulders, which is unusual for a shepherd breed dog (I think he has some boxer and/or retriever), and this helps the cross-strap stay in place. Even so it doesn't stay super well. He only wears the brace for short periods, if he wore it longer i would put a collar or shoulder harness on him and attach the cross strap of the brace to that with string or stretchy material. If your dog's rear end slopes down you're definitely going to need something like this to keep the brace on.The brace is a kind of stiff neoprene material, it reduces the range of motion of his knee which I think is a good thing, but there are no metal or rigid parts to give structural support. I think it is a good temporary solution to help before and maybe after surgery but I don't think it is sturdy enough to replace surgery or be used long term. Just my opinion, I'm not a vet or anything.

Works
Works but slips down on leg. The strap on waist is too thin for my dog. But would be good on smaller dog

Doesn’t work with active, young. Injured dogs.
I wasn’t able to place this brace properly for my young, active, long-haired acutely injured dog. He completely torn his ACL with inability to bear weight on his hind leg. I tried this brace about 2 weeks after his injury. The brace looks very appealing in the pictures but is not an alternative for surgery. Very irritating for my dog.

Perfect comfortable fit
This is the third brace I have purchased and finally found one that is suitable for my large male dog. It is made to not constrict my dog's belly and genital area at all (as the others did). He actually enjoys wearing it and it is helping him to not drag his foot due to bilateral torn ACL's, arthritis and hip dysplasia. He is 88 lbs but due to loss of muscle and fat I found the size L to fit perfectly. I plan to buy another for his other back leg after he becomes comfortable wearing one.

Dog bit off within 15 minutes
We really did not get to see if this product was helpful. Our dog bit it off within 15 minutes of putting it on. The strap for the brace is thin and was easy for her to quickly bite off
