max fan speed runs slower, no separate on/off for fan
First, the fan speed. I expect the max speed setting will run the fan like a direct wire max speed, but it definitely runs slower. Probably between original level 2 and 3 speed. Level 1 literally just spins the fan with just a little air movement, some people might prefer this.Next, there is no separate on/off switch for fan. This means to turn it off, you have to switch the speed setting down until off. I did not think this would matter when I bought this, but now that I am using it, I think a switch with a separate on/off and speed setting is better.Good thing I got this used at a much lower price, so I'm not out that much, hence 2 stars. You can get a smart wifi fan and light switch for about the same price as this switch regular price.

A great buy
This has worked well in my daughter’s bedroom. I was worried based on possible problems of it being installed on a circuit protected by an ARC breaker. It’s been installed and working just fine for the last few months.
