The center of any good outdoor party is a good fire. A fire pit is best, where you can burn some logs, or a bonfire where you can get rid of all the combustible garden and household waste (like old furniture) for the year. But you'll be wanting to roast marshmellows, or make 'smores (two "nice" biscuits (or graham crackers) either side of a piece of chocolate and as roasted marshmellow). The little skewers you get in fondue sets are sort-of okay, but you need to get pretty close, and you can easily overheat or singe your eyebrows... Plus those things tend to be a bit stabby...These roasting sticks are the perfect solution. They retract to about 12" long so you can easily apply the marshmellows to crackers, and extend up to 32" to keep your fingers and eyebrows un-singed.You'd think that holding metal in a fire would lead to them heating up, but surprisingly they don't heat up so much. After being removed from the fire, if you give them just a few seconds the shiny surface radiates away all the heat and you can usually touch or even grip the metal part without getting burnt. That's a godsend when you're roasting with kids, because they always forget that the sticks will be hot after being in the fire.The end of the sticks have two 'tines'. You can stick one large marshmellow with both tines to ensure it doesn't drop off into the fire (my method), or you can put one marshmellow onto each tine and roast two at once, for the more greedy among you. The good news is that the ends of the tines are flat, not pointy-stabby, so they're relatively safe for kids to use. I got stabbed more than once by a careless child when we used them, and it didn't hurt at all.Each stick has a different coloured plastic ring around the top of the handle. Like those wine-glass doodads so you can identify your own glass at parties, these are great for being able to put your fork down and run around with the kids, and then recognise which is yours again later.The telescopic metal fork cleans quite easily in soap and hot water. Each one only takes a few seconds, despite having caked-on burnt sugar all over them. Leave them overnight to dry and then compress them back down to go into the nice black cloth carrybag.The carrybag is a nice addition, it keeps them all together and even looks quite nice when you take it out to the fireside to hand them out.These aren't the sturdiest things due to the plastic nature of their handles. If they were stood on, or sat on, I'd fear that the handle would snap. So don't let the kids run around and use them for swordfighting!A really good buy, and made our last bonfire an even bigger success than it would have been :)

So far so good.Ordered these as a gift for my wife.Great for marshmallows around the fire pit.There are plenty of forks so great for entertaining. Pretty sturdy and extend enough to be safe for the kids to use.Come in a nice little storage bag.

The telescopic part is very good as it extends a long way. Unfortunately it means they aren’t very good at holding anything heavy

I am involved in running Squirrels, the youngest section in Scouting 4 to 6 year olds. These are great for toasting marshmallows on a real fire. It allows the young person to do it at a a safe distance.

Gotta admit these are super handy when roasting marshmallows around a campfire! Love that they are compact but open nice and long so you don’t get burnt. Nice little carrying case and have used them many times now. Just make sure to scrub them well before putting away.

Pretty sturdy, extend a good distance & seem well made. Different colour markings so everybody can have their own. And nice pouch to keep them in, though I may put them in a harder case just in case they get bent up if anything heavy was to go on top. Good vendor & quick delivery

Ordered these to toast marshmallows over the firepit. Am blown away by the value of these, there are eight forks which come in a black presentation zip bag, which means these would make an idea gift with a packet of marshmallows! Each fork is a different colour at the end and they are extendable to avoid burning hands and fingers over the fire. They don't feel that sturdy tbh but for the price I don't mind! Havent used yet but for the price I'm very happy

Easy to extend, a couple of them are a little flimsy. Only gave 3 stars for cleaning as I hate washing up and would be good to put in dishwasher but would think would rust if you did. Much easier to use and safer than the metal skewers we used in past. Have bought an extra set as a present.
