Reliable and Essential Safety Gear for Any Boater
I recently purchased the ACR GLOBALFIX V6 GPS EPIRB, and I couldn’t be more impressed. As someone who spends a lot of time offshore, having a dependable emergency beacon is non-negotiable, and ACR has delivered once again.

“Programming” is an insane FUBAR situation
If you aren’t buying this to have it sent to your boat’s “Home“ this is an exercise in frustration and futility. Apparently, the stupid device is not programmable by the end user, so you have to find someone to reprogram the thing with the proper data, otherwise you’ll be violating the law, and may not get rescued if your boat sinks. WTF?!? 😳I don’t understand why the end user can’t just program the stupid thing with the proper information, and go sailing safely. 😡
