No documentation
This product comes with no documentation.Printing on board indicates which SATA plug is connected to.In my case to motherboard SATA. see picture. It requires knowledge of the device being connected. It is not plug and play and requires that jumpers on your HDD or CDROM be Jumper'd for master.Thats what worked for me. It did not work at all until I set the jumper.Tested HDD and CDROM both functioned W/R.No idea what the two LEDs indicate. If SATA cable not connected only the red LED is on.Both LEDs are on when the unit is functioning.

If you are looking for a IDE to SATA converter, skip this one.
I've been working with this for a couple of days and I still haven't been able to get it to work with a DVD drive. All the information I could find says it should work the way I have the DVD drive and the adapter configured.

Not Working and Too expensive given options
I seem to have it working with both LED lights on. No documentation given so information of how to get it to work given by other reviewers. IDE CD-ROM set to Master. SATA cable connected at corrected position. In BIOS not recognizing anything on the SATA connection. Windows not recognizing device. For a little more money people can buy a SATA drive/CD-ROM if you have an IDE device so no point in buying an adapter.
