The floating D-Pad design is a nice idea, but in reality it is not reliable. I find in a game like Xenocrisis, which requires very fast and accurate d-pad inputs including diagonals, that half the time my character will move in the wrong direction, as it reads intended cardinal movements as diagonals and vice versa about half the time, making the game impossible to play in tight situations like boss fights. Basically the d-pad is too loose and floaty, and this became noticeably worse after only a few hours of use. It's a great shame as everything else about the controller seems fine, but an unreliable d-pad makes a controller useless, no matter how good the rest of it is :(
