Doesn't last
If I had written this review 18 months ago, I would have given it 5 stars as I loved this chair! However, this chair is no good if it can't even cope with 18 months of light use!! My chair is already falling apart, with the silver stripe along the arm coming lose, and what I just noticed - the upholstery on the foot rest has worn through on one side, leaving a bunch of holes along the edge! I am horrified! I have the extended warranty, but the company that sold me the chair have just shrugged and said that the holes are 'fair wear and tear'. Really? Really? It's 'fair' for a chair costing this much to wear out in just 18 months of light use (once per week at the most, but usually about once or twice per month). So as lovely as the chair is, I have to give it only 1 star, as I was expecting a good 5-10 years out of it! (For the record, I believe the damage has probably resulted from the chair being incorrectly assembled by the delivery team, so that one edge is skew and brushes the floor - the other edge is fine. Of course, the company denies this and spouts the fair wear and tear clause in their warranty - so don't bother with the extended warranty either!).

Dreamwave
It was delivered on time, and did require some assembly.I love it, though I would recommend looking at the high end zero-g brands out there, and testing them before spending $8k on this.Inada is really good, but there may be better for the money.

Weak Massage for Old, Frail People Only
This chair feels like a new born baby's hands on your back or a hundred year old woman with major arthritus. It was as if a breeze were gently going down my spine -- not what I would consider to be a massage at all.It does not have any foot rollers and it just squeezes and lets go. For the money this monstrousity costs, it should have foot rollers that would give a decent lower foot massage. It's as if there were ten blood pressure cuffs on your calves and feet all squeezing at various intervals. A blood pressure cuff is not a pleasant sensation. When it goes into stretch mode, it grabs onto your calves and the chair gently bends backwards, but there is no real stretch whatsoever. It would be akin to doing a hamstring stretch and touching your toes, but the machine only takes your fingers to your thighs -- not much of a stretch at all, just a gentle arching of the lower back. The hip airbags and shoulder air bags give a decent push, but there is no massage to these parts of the body; it just compresses you on one side of your body and then releases. The buttocks airbags do not seem to do anything at all. This chair is only good for the severe elderly or people who like a weak massage, people who like to be barely touched. The robotic arms do not feel like hands at all, they feel like steel balls.I have tried out around ten chairs and this chair has got to be the weakest of them all. I don't understand the hype and the fuss. This chair should be priced around $2000 for what it offers.

Weak back massage
My parents have the exact same model and the one I received from Amazon does not work properly. The back massage component is not nearly as strong as it should be on the lowest setting and even increasing the level with the 3D back function does not increase the strength level. I wonder if this is a malfunction or my chair is defective. The air pressure is great and otherwise the chair works well, but the back massage is the most important for me and so I am disappointed....

Exceeds Expectations
I never say this, but in the few short weeks I've owned the Inada Songo DreamwaveMassage chair it has changed my life for the better. I swear this is NOT a sales pitch andI have no reason to promote this product - I just want other people who experiencemuscle aches and cramps to know there's an alternative.Initially I trialed the machine at an electronics department store about 4 hoursfrom my home. A hell of a drive but the trek was well worth it. After my firstrun on the Sogno it "popped" a knot out in my shoulder that I must of had for years, yet not known it. I ran through a myriad of program and settings for a littleover an hour before being politely asked to purchase the chair or leave. My bodywas tingling with both relief and relaxation but my wallet remained closed,I knew Amazon would make more sense to me financially.Anyways after purchasing and receiving the chair each massage thereafter has beenboth therapeutic and relaxing. For example every evening I run the "Sleep"massage that gently but thoroughly puts pressure on each side of my body andstretches both my shoulders and neck. Thereafter I sleep so soundly that mytypical wake-up of three to four times a night is completely eliminated. Iliterally sleep like a baby again. The average run time of a massage is 15minutes I believe, but there's a 10 minute massage as well entitled "Quick".This massage combines all the functionality of what the chair can do in a speedyyet functional rub down. The bottom line is I am extremely satisfied with what this chair can do. Yes it'sexpensive but simply stated you get what you pay for. There's not another chairon the market that can cover so many shiatsu (pressure) points on your body. Plusthe longevity of the Songo Dreamwave is rated for 25 years when using it at leastonce a day. That's a lot of massages. If you paid your masseuse for that length oftime it would be A LOT more than what you're paying for this chair. If nothingelse you owe it to yourself to at least experience what an Inada massage chaircan do.
