Very good gear head .
Was pleased to get this at a very good price £78 used from the distributer , also contacted them about the details of the item as it seemed too low a price and received a timely reply to say that there was a few marks on the unit but otherwise it was all good and it was very good , This is a budget geared head unit and does feel fairly heavy but does feel a better quality than i was expecting, I am using it to take moon pictures and just needed something to micro adjust the frameing this can micro adjust in 3 planes as a ball head is just to" bull in a china shop" this does the job and fitted onto my tripod easily and securely .

Works well, good value
Before purchasing this item, I looked at the Benro GD3WH gear head. I decided on the NEEWER as it included the stand-off which was extra cost for the Benro as was cheaper overall with the £25 voucher. The stand-off stop the head jamming against the tripod at extreme angles.Operation seemed very similar to the Benro with quick and fine adjustment knobs. The QR plate release isn't quite as neat as the Benro which has a spring-loaded detent to fully release the camera.Fine adjustment worked very well with precise control and no slack in the mechanism. All in all I was quite happy with the item.

One of the most useful things I have bought.
Very well made and easy to make fine adjustments accurately. Feels very sturdy and the included stand off pillar makes accessing the control knobs so much better on my tripod which has no center column by raising the head away from the base plate. Very pleased with the Neewer geared head. Terrific quality and excellent value for money.

Works very well
The bubble in one side fell off almost straight away but the mechanism works well with my telescope. I'd have preferred a QR instead of the rotating adaptor, as that's the weakest point on the head.

Excellent bit of kit!
Got this on one of amazons limited time deals - for £100. Its extremely good value for money at that price. Its very well constructed, the knobs and dials are well damped and the this gear head is definitely going to replace using a ball head. Wish I had purchased one of these years ago. Highly recommended!

Extremely Solid, Initially Very Impressive, Various Finish Issues, Two Stuck (Broken?) Lock Sliders
Initial impressions of this were excellent; very heavy and extremely solid. No wobble or flex anywhere. Lovely anodised black finish.Smooth action on all three axis; both when turning the geared knobs and when using the 'fast move' feature actuated by the silver sprung rings on each axis. However as I started examining it, disappointment set in. Upon closer inspection there are various finish issues, despite the excellent machining on the solid aluminium parts. It's as if the parts were made, then thrown around in a pile for a while before actually being finished and assembled. This seems like a shame given the level of quality being aimed for here.Finish issues aside, the most notable problem is with the little L-shaped locking sliders or "mode control switches" as they describe them. These are supposed to lock the sprung silver rotary rings into a position that disengages the geared knobs, seemingly while keeping the axis locked in place. They achieve this by pushing little pins into notches on the rings, which you can see on my photos. Indeed, one of these works okay. However, all three on mine have (visibly) snapped-off pins. Additionally, two of the three sliders were so stiff that I had to apply a lever behind them to actually get them to move. Now they are reasonably easy to move; but with the pins absent, the locking action is not secure. It's a poor design, and in my particular sample's case, seemingly broken. This is clearly a product that has been rebranded many different times, as there are dozens of variations of the same design available on Amazon. I doubt it is a NEEWER-engineered product. Looking at the details and reviews of other versions, I can see how the locking mechanism is *supposed* to look and work. When the sprung rings are not being held open, the geared axis show no sign of movement; so I can still use the head and just ignore the slider locking feature. In all other regards, the head functions as it should. All variations of this geared head seem to represent decent value for money compared to more traditional brands; so it's really down to finding the best value version at the time you're shopping. With the current voucher this NEEWER one fits that description, but I cannot recommend it based on the finish and locking slider issues I've experienced.
