She's Not Coming Home

Exciting from start to finish!
This story was thrilling, a true edge of the seat page turner. When Ruth, Matt's wife suddenly disappears he begins to investigate instead of relying on the police department's missing person's unit. There was an event shortly after Ruth went missing where I had strong suspicions about a certain person's involvement. I have a strong dislike for "spoiler alerts" so I won't go into more detail. Suffice it to say, my hunch was partially correct...just that there was much more to the situation than I imagined. When something Matt discovered led him to Rochester, NY it was very interesting to me since I lived there most of my life. The reasons behind his wife's disappearance, the tie-ins to other crimes being investigated and answers to some other questions posed were for the most part surprising and summed up well. There only complaints I have are with poor editing (grammar errors, weird or incorrect ways of saying things) and I wished the ending were more detailed as to what happened afterwards.

Kept my attention
This book captured my attention right away. It's a pretty good mystery. Indeed, there are words/phrases/spellings that make it seem to be a British book. But that didn't take away from the plot. I liked the unexpected twists and turns.I liked that Matt picked up total care of Nathan as if it was business as usual. I appreciated the way Matt's parents were so eager to help, as well. One thing I didn't like, particularly, was the way Ruth failed to notify authorities about her situation. She also never alerted Matt. That made the plot a little implausible. I'd like to have known more about Ruth and how the situation came to be.

Kept me involved
Story was well done. Obviously written by a British author due to the punctuation and word spellings, which is different from the USA, but don't let that deter you from the enjoyment of the book. The plot easily draws in a reader and puts us in the place of the main character. Matt made some mistakes but who wouldn't? Kept me glued to my chair. Hated to stop for a moment until I reached the end.

Great read!
Wasn't sure how this book was going to be once started. But it picked up fast and was fast paced the rest of the way. A good page turner!

She's Not Coming Home, not quite there!
I liked the premise of this book, and the way it was written, but it needed some major editing in parts, and there were numerous spelling and grammar errors. I also thought the ending could have been written differently. It was kind of a let down at the end. I liked it, but not one of my favorite books.

Disappointed
I was ready to read a good mystery and this sounded interesting - in the beginning. As I read, I began to be discouraged because I felt things were moving too slow. I kept reading because I knew there were too many incidents occurring that would have to be resolved. Yes, the ending answered the mysterious incidents, but I felt they were a little unrealistic. The ending still left the reader wondering about the primary character and his family.

Page-Turning Suspense
This is quite a little page turner. I read it in two days. The story really holds you and the twists and turns are aplenty. I'd definitely recommend to this book to any thriller fan. The characters are well developed and the straight-forward style is refreshing in that you don't have to wade through any heavy description to get what is going on. Mr. Cox did a fine job here and I'd like to read more of his work.

Suspense, Mystery and more...
I found the book to be a very nice quick read. It was an interesting story with just enough twists within the plot to hold your interest. I would recommend this one for anyone who enjoys reading plots that keep you guessing.

A shivery tale
What would you do if your wife didn't come home from work one night? How do you explain her lack of presence to your young son? What do you do when people in the company she works for tell you they've never heard of her, and that the number you've got on your phone doesn't connect you to the place; yet another number will? Matt has to tread very carefully as he deals with his wife's disappearance, and Nathan's questions. Ruth's friend isn't much help either. Her husband Ryan doesn't realise he's being duped, too.The details are long in being fleshed out but the story has no lack for that. It turns out to be a very strange tale in the end, and one which Detective Weber seems to become very personally involved in; which causes him more problems than he'd like.Loads of twists and turns all the way through make this a gripping read. As they all say, I couldn't put it down. Read this story in one day. It's that good.

Half a day I won’t get back
I really dislike leaving negative reviews but this book is so inconsistent and unrealistic and ridiculous story. Far too much detail in every road in and around Boston and no real oomph to the story. It was like a wet blanket.A sub story through it that was pointless, an ending that made no sense at all and points in the middle almost two cringing to read.

Started better than it finished
I enjoyed this book, and was keen to see how the story resolved itself. Unfortunately for me the resolution was slightly disappointing, although maybe I simply hadn't picked up the clues along the way.One slight criticism I have is over the excessive description of the journeys in the car, after a while it felt like I was reading Google Maps directions. I imagine this was to give a sense of distance, or place, or possibly the commitment of the main protagonist to his search, but as someone not from that part of the world, and because there were no reference points I could easily relate to, this felt like a way of meeting the contractual liability to write a given number of words. For me, a stronger editor could have pruned these passages down to allow the action to flow more.

A good "unputdownable" read!
I must start by saying that I too noticed a couple of little typos in this novel so it isn't perfect yet eg the instead of them and "sing" instead of the word "sign" which threw me a bit! But I can forgive the author this as I absolutely loved his storytelling! I am sure my heart rate increased especially as it lead up to the end of the book and I really couldn't put it down. I was lucky enough to have a free download of "She's not coming home" and I had nothing to lose by downloading it but I would happily have paid £1.99 for it if I had known how much I would enjoy it. I now have the authors other 2 books on my wishlist to take on holiday with me. I do hope these will have been proof read again as it must be very frustrating for the author as I am sure he would gain more 5* reviews if this was perfected.

Lost
I liked the story and the way that it described the emotions of a man whose wife just disappeared. Not knowing the area the directions were superfluous to the story. There were several twists that kept me guessing. I liked most of the characters. A very interesting read.
