Great protection!
Update 6/18/2018: The jacket is holding up great with daily use.The new version 2, Trans Urban Motorcycle Jacket is heavy duty, quality construction. The armor in the shoulders and elbows is flexible and allows freedom of movement and is covered with an additional layer of tough material. The back armor covers the upper and middle part of the back well, and the jacket incorporates an attachment point built into the front for the use of optional half chest or full chest armor. (See photos) Overall the jacket offers great protection. The stitching on the jacket is tight and neat with no loose threads. The overall finish of the jacket is excellent, and I'm sure it will hold up to years of use. If there ever is a problem, Pilot covers it with a 2 year warranty, how cool is that! I used the size chart on Pilot's website when ordering, and the fit was just right for me (snug without being restrictive), plus there are adjustments in the sleeves and waist to customize the fit. This jacket is very comfortable. There are plenty of well placed pockets inside and out, with quality zippers. The jacket seals out the cold with multiple layers of protection on the main zipper, and if it's warmer the collar snaps to the side to allow more airflow. The zippered vents on the shoulders and back allow additional cooling and the interior insulation zips out for riding in warmer weather. The jacket looks and feels great, and so far, has exceeded my expectations on the road.Update: 2/19/17I had a zipper pull cord detach from the main zipper so I called Pilot and talked to Collin. He was great! He said he would send a replacement right away. 2 days later I received a package from Pilot with 6 zipper pulls and a couple cool Pilot gifts! I really appreciate the prompt professional service and the peace of mind knowing that Pilot stands behind their products. They have won a loyal customer. Thanks Pilot!

Great value and excellent quality.
This is a great jacket and excellent value at the $200 mark. I really like the high visibility which stands out even more in person as compared to pictures online. Regarding size I generally wear size "large" shirts and sweaters and found this jacket to be a great fit. When the liner is taken out it gets just a little bit loose but clearly an XL would be too big. Stick to your regular jacket size when ordering, don't bother upsizing or downsizing. The jacket itself is very durable and heavily padded on the elbows, back, and shoulders. Venting is across the mid back with a hidden zipper on the exterior keeping a nice clean look on the exterior. The jacket has pockets all over the place both inside and outside. Especially helpful the interior zips are outlined in red making them easier to see and grasp. There is an adjustable band at the waist if you need to snug the jacket up a bit.I find the jacket to be warm enough in 40 F weather without the liner (riding a touring bike with a windscreen). The liner will definitely add enough warmth to make this a solid choice for a three-season jacket or even four-season for those living a ways south of Minnesota.

Great, quality jacket for the money
This is my first "ADV/touring" jacket and on first impression I love it. I've never owned (or been able to afford) Klim, so I can't compare this to a $600+ jacket, but I can tell you that this jacket seems to be made very well. When you pull it out of the box you can tell it is constructed using quality materials and put together with care and attention to detail. There is protection at impact areas (elbows, shoulders, back), plenty of pockets, and even some venting if you want to wear it in warmer weather. There is a zip out thermal liner and a fixed waterproof/windproof membrane. I'm about 5'11" and 210 lbs., I ordered the XL initially and found it to be a little constricting in the chest when moving, I then ordered the 2XL and am very happy with the fit. I can layer under the jacket on really cold rides and not feel overly constricted.I'll update this review as time goes on, but at this point I am not worried about this jacket protecting me. I'm in Indiana and ride 9-10 months out of the year. I'm counting on this jacket to protect me from the cold wind and rain. I'll let you know if it disappoints.

Very nice, Even better than expected. XXXL
I bought this jacket to replace a Klim Valdez that I have outgrown. Over quality and workmanship appears to match Klim completely. The fit is excellent. 6'1" , 275 lbs. First ride temperature was at 45* but sunny. All vents closed except the back with the neck and wrist closures tight. Warmth and comfort was excellent running up to 60 mph for 12 miles heading to the desert. I opened both upper chest (arm) vents, loosened the wrist closures and rode cross country for a couple miles but found I was too warm. I then unzipped the coat and unfastened the neck which made the next 15 miles of single and 2 track trails just about right if not just a little warm. Any warmer temperature would have required removal of the thermo liner. It would store in the rear pouch pouch easily without feeling like you are carryng anything. Upon returning to the asphalt, I removed the coat, closed all vents then zipped completely, fastened the wrist and neck to prevent drafts and road back roads 25 plus miles home. The temperature had dropped to just under 40* when I reached home but comfort level was perfect. My conclusion is this coat is more than a bargain for riding a enduro motorcycle. A little more snow on the mountain and I will update the review after a day snowmobiling. I am confident this jacket will perform just as well.
