Does the job! I upgraded my Macbook Pro Retina Mid 2012 and the original Apple SSD fit and showed once inserted. By the way, the instruction manual states the enclosure will not work with any other brand SSD's (including any other OWC SSD's) however I used QNINE mSATA to A1398 adapter with Samsung 860 EVO 500GB mSATA SSD and the computer registered the drive just fine. I just couldn't close the enclosure because once adapter plus mSATA SSD stacked, it was too fat for the enclosure. It didn't stop me from restoring my original Apple SSD to my new Samsung SSD! Just plugged in that USB cable and worked it out. Now I have a nice 240GB of external storage that's smaller than other drives. Not sure what I'll use it for though...

THE CONNECTOR FOR THE HAD DRIVE HAS A DIVISION ABOUT TWO ESPACES TO THE RIGTH.
THE DIVIDER IN THE CONNECTOR FOR THE SSD IS A OFFSET BY SHORT TO CONNECT . THE OWCBOX IS VERY NICE BUT DO NOT MASH THE CONNECTOR FOR THE HARD DRIVE OF THE MACBOOK PRO MODEL A1502.

Almost Perfect
I smashed my Macbook Pro Retina and needed to recover some data from the drive. I figured if I could salvage the drive why not have a cool looking SSD external drive too. This appears to be a quality piece of hardware and works very well. My only criticism is it's way bigger than it needs to be, it's at least 50% wider than it would have needed to be but matches Apple products almost perfectly, except for the very generic non-Apple looking USB cable, shame they didn't go with a custom white cable.

Expensive, but very Apple-ish
Just like everything else in the Apple ecosystem, this device is expensive. However, it definitely looks like it belongs next to an Apple product! Plus, it's almost impossible to find another brand adapter for Apple's quirky SSD proprietary format. If you NEED to access your MacBook's SSD drive, this enclosure fits the bill perfectly! The only downside is that after installing the SSD, the manufacturer suggests putting the included rubber feet over the screws. I'd rather not mess with applying and removing sticky rubber feet, since I never know when I'll need to swap the SSD within the enclosure. Finally, the speed of this device is surprisingly fast!

It stop working after 4 months use
I bought this device at 5/26 on 2022. And it stopped working on 10/2. it didn't respond to my different computers.I am wiring this review here to see what's the next step that OWC is going to response and will change the rating if there is any customer service.I stored some important data with this driving case and couldn't imagine this device is that not reliable.
