Time Saver to avoid a mechanical tear down.
The split boot repair works as it should as long as you take your time and follow the directions. I would assemble the boot and glue before packing the CV joint with grease. On our 2003 chrysler town & country we had plenty of room to assemble the 2 piece boot with the glue and then pack the cv joint with grease. We completed our repair under 30 minutes.

useless garbage
I have used a fair amount of these over the years on my 4x4 truck because sometimes you don't have the time to disassemble the whole 4wd hub assembly to get the axle out to do it right. The old ones used to be a decent rubber compound with screws that held the two sides together and while it didn't last long, it lasted long enough. This new style is more of a semi-flexible plastic, like a cheap dollar store toy, and you glue the two halves together, problem is...the glue doesn't hold anything but your fingers together! I am very mechanically inclined and do a lot of work on my own cars, that being said, this is one frustrating contraption to install.I ended up using a different glue I had on hand and will see how that goes. The supplied glue is far too thin to work as it should. I cleaned the surface and applied a nice bead of glue, held it together for longer than the recommended time...it still didn't hold.I honestly don't have much hope for this thing doing much good but I can follow up later. My main goal is to keep dirt and moisture out of the joint until I can install the OEM boot in the spring.

It's worth every penny
These are great for re-booting torn cv boots. You need to used alternative clamps, the one that come with are not worth bothering with, overall if you do it right they are completely capable!

Size is smaller than claimed.
The quality of the item overall seems fine. I don't know for sure about durability because I just put them on the vehicle. Posts of YouTube show that the glue is very strong. I very much hope so, because the item is smaller than it should be.According to Amazon and numerous other sellers, this fits my vehicle. I need 4 inch ID for the big end. I bought 2 of these, and tried to dry fit one. Looks to be about 3/8 inch too small. I was going to return them, but I can't find any other choice that is bigger. I looked at every spit boot on every website to find one that claims to be 4". Only Doorman publishes detailed information available - Kudos. And more kudos for offering many choices. But this is the only one that claims to be as big as 4 inches. Beck Arnley makes split boots too, but I can't find detailed specs. So, this is the only one that claims the big end is 4 inches inside diameter. It is not. It is about 3 and 11/16. So, I am putting them on, as best I can. I have to stretch the outside end to get it over the rim of the CV joint. This was a HORRENDOUS effort, but I got the drivers side done, and have hopes for the passenger side. The amount of stretch is enough that I fear for the glue/seams. I hope it will hold. I'll need to watch these closely, to see if they hold up, or not.If the Doorman fails prematurely, I'll have to write to Beck Arnley or some British manufactures, and see if they offer boots that will fit my vehicle. The Brit choices look like they will, but the computerized compatibility check says they won't fit. And it would be arduous to get them.I opted for split boots because I didn't want to go through the (supposedly) much larger effort of replacing (or re-booting off the vehicle) the 1/2 shafts. Starting to wonder how much effort I really saved.

Good luck with this product.
If you decide to waste your time with this product, I recommend using a different type of adhesion, one that provides a dry time of minutes, not seconds. Wear disposable gloves.
