Sometimes you get more than you pay for....
This very inexpensive radio is unusually sensitive and selective for its price and size. The FM is mono, the SW drifts a little, but the MW is superb for night program listening ( WTAM Cleveland sounded like a local from my New Jersey home ), and the sound is very good for a pocket-sized radio. The SW bands are sensitive enough to pick up most of the stations I hear on my more elaborate receivers, and the FM is sensitive and clear. It is a fully digital receiver with a clock and programmable memory channels, and a pleasant green backlight. I am delighted with this purchase.

Full-featured little FM/AM/SW radio/alarm clock at a "minimalist radio" price.
Recieved this radio two days ago and have been putting it through its paces.Purchase price was $12.98 ($15.98-$3.00 coupon).A feature-rich radio /alarm clock; power off timer as well as power on timer, choice of 12 hour or 24 hour time format Love this feature!), screen able to show all current radio functions, 32 memories for each mode (FM/AM/SW), automatic scan and store mode or manual store, telescopic antenna with 360 degree movement for best reception, foldable radio stand at the rear. Sensitivity is excellent on all modes (see below) and the audio is clear and distortion-free.Two things stand out re this receiver.1. The built quality is above average for radios at this price point and has a solid and robust feel. The controls are responsive with a solid action to them.2. Unusual for radios at this price sensitivity and reception on the SW bands is excellent. It's easy to design a radio receiver for local FM/AM stations where signals are strong and usually well separated on the radio spectrum but much more difficult to do this on the SW or HF bands where the signals are much weaker and can be very close to each other. Indoors yesterday evening, using only the telescopic antenna, I was able to easily pick up Radio Habana, Radio Romania and many other SW stations. Someone in another review mentioned signal fading when listening on SW frequncies, this is a feature of propagation on the HF bands and not a design weakness of the radio.Cons; the instruction manual could be a little clearer, but I was able to figure everything out after about 30 mins studying it. I wish there was a dedicated button for illumination of the screen, as it is, pressing any of the controls will turn the screen light on for a few seconds. In summary, this little feature-rich FM/AM/SW radio/alarm clock really delivers performance-wise and represents outstanding value.

Great reception
Originally I only gave four stars because it was very hard to set stations. Finally got rid of the directions and just played with it. Sound is excellent and am band is clear. I really am enjoying this little radio. Very happy

The tuning controls are very hard to learn to operate and to use !
It sounded surpriseingly good on FM reception for such a small speaker, But I rarely listen to FM. Because of the very poor instructions and the computer programing style tuning buttons that do Not have markings on them as to what they do each several different things it is very hard or not possible to operate it It,Needs a much bigger, Easier to read and more informative set of instructions. This is a second part of this review !! a couple weeks later. The push buttons are organized in a very non natural placement compared to all other radios and even "I" As radio and TV station engineer and Police department and Army electronic communications specialist and a Ham Radio operator, Am still having trouble finding some frequencies and the methods of programing them in as regularly used stations and it is so difficult just trying to tune in stations one at a time tuning across the radio bands of frequencies that you really need to program those frequencies into saved frequencies, It is unfortunate that it is this hard to tune, Because it receives radio signals fairly well, But it's built in antenna is Very directional, So you need to after you tune a frequency, Turn the radio around 180 degrees until you hear it as static free as possible. Also, It seems to Stop working when normal or rechargeable batteries are only one half discharged, And you can take them out and get more use out of them in an LED flashlight, Etc. Please think back to my post here when you are spending a lot of time trying to teach yourself to use the controls on this radio.

Decent little radio
This is a nice little radio, it pulls in some decent stations, I was able to pick up am stations from a good 40 miles, only thing I haven’t figured out is how to delete a station once it is scanned, have to look over the booklet a little more, other than that I like it, good sound, I’m not sure about the battery life yet that’s why I did not rate it. Great for backyards, camping or emergency situations. Very compact.
