This is a great product. Quality made and had plenty of power for every job I've thrown at it. Highly recommend. Metabo makes great stuff and this is no exception.

My 3rd Unit
This is my 3rd Hitachi / Metabo drill screwdriver. Got my 1st one (a Hitachi) as a gift from my kids about 20 years ago and thought: "That's pretty lazy if you need to use an electric screwdriver!" But after a few uses, that's pretty much all I use! Fits in my carpenter jean rule pocket, a set of bits and sockets and I'm ready for almost anything! No, it doesnt have the torque to drive in deck screws (yes, it'll remove them but wont drive them into virgin wood- unless you pre-drill a pilot hole)I pretty much wore out my first Hitachi. It still works ok but pretty beat up! LED doesnt work (the switch) but it keeps torquing away perfectly! Sometimes it bites my hand when it goes from straight to pistol grip but it keeps chugging along! Finally decided to get another one and retire this Hitachi!Well... Hitachi sold and changed names to Metabo! Same product- kinda snazzed up but definately cheaper plastic! Thinner, motor is somewhat slower and less torque than the Hitachi- but basically works just the same! Great unit! Out of all the electric screwdrives I checked out, thios one it tops. ALL the batteries are the same 3.6v - plenty adequate. I did replace the charger unit with a smaller one and relegated the original Hitachi driver to my 'go-box' tool bag in my truck (I have a couple of rental units)Decided to get yet another one- while they're still available. Amazon keeps playing with the price- up and down- and this time when they dropped the price- and had a coupon discount too- I jumped at it! Great, practical and useful tool. Maybe I did get 'lazy' in my old age but once you use it, you'll use it often! Now that I have 3 of these, I have one in my house garage, one in my shop and one in the truck so I dont have to go searching for one! Now I have 6 batteries that only take about 30 min to recharge and seems to last quite a while. It's a great product. Not as 'solid' as the original Hitachi but certainly not one of those cheap flimsy generic Chinese no name screwdrivers! If I needed another one- or needed to give one as a gift, I'd certainly get another on of these. Hopefully, these Metabo's will last as long as the original Hitachi stuff!

WONDERFUL SCREWDRIVER - AMAZING!! ..... But 8 months and the batteries won't charge.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE the screwdriver!!! BUT, 8 months and the batteries won't charge. I don't know whether it's the batteries or the charger, but the charging light doesn't come on and I have dead batteries. ARRRGGGH.How do I get the warranty service? I can't find the contact.

Used before at my place of work.
This is what I like about it: The Metabo HPT works really well for what we use it for at work and no it isn't for drilling or for the screwdriving part. We use it to create chamfers on the parts to get rid of burrs. It lasts me the whole 8 hours there of constant use and I believe it lasts the whole use of the other 2 shifts as well to the point of going into my shift again, but then I will need to change it during my shift the following day. This tends to be constant use and not just one or two holes it's more like 13 or more holes that need chamfered and we aren't pressing down really hard on it either. Just letting the drill sit on top of the hole and letting it get rid of the burrs with very little pressure. Put too much pressure and it could create a really big chamfer which could scrap your part, so not pressing down hard on it.This is what I don't like about it: It doesn't have a source to tell you if it is getting ready to die and that you need to change it. That is the only thing that I can think of that I don't like.I'm thinking of getting one for here at the house as well, but this one I got for work because they don't have enough of these and I just really like it. Will be using it at home first since it is Saturday and there are things I need to use a drill for so will let you know how it works on those.

Best electric screwdriver for under 100
Swap-able batteries, included charger, nice carry case, and impact-style chuck. Makes good torque and has 2 speed settings. Very worth getting if you drive a lot of screws

Simply Amazing!
I really wish I had bought this a long time ago! Before, I would stick a drillbit on my compact drill—with combined weight of battery plus tool, it adds up to over 2 lbs. While I’m accustomed to using the compact drill, it is unwieldy. Then I ordered the Metabo HPT 12v screwdriver…. My life has changed lol! Easy to use, buttons and lightswitch all conveniently placed for easy one handed operation, adjustable clutch is great for torque, batteries lasts a good amount. Plus it is lightweight yet a solid tool (dropped several times from 3’ height, no problem).Highly recommend

Not for small hands
Direction buttons are difficult to use in pistol mode unless you have big hands or very long fingers as it difficult to activate and control. The torque ring is very stiff to rotate and won’t allow you to move in single increments. The battery charger turns red when a battery is inserted and turns off when the battery is fully charged, really? The weight is very light but the drivers feels solid. Very little wobble with an inserted bit and two speed is top notch. Nowhere does it say that you can lock it and use as a regular screwdriver. The pistol/extended modes is easy to shift but it it is also very easily moved accidentally.Real world testing will be done soon but on sale with two batteries it’s a bargain. Torque is only 5 Nm, about 45-50 inch lbs and not enough to drive big screws into wood. It really can’t be used as drill. For rc and repetitive small screws is recommended.
