Cuisinox Spring Action Disher Scoop, Size #30

I have small hands, so at first the thumb control was a bit out of my reach. However, once I got my hand/thumb adjusted I have not had a problem squeezing the thumb control. The scoop works well and now I can produce a consistently sized cookie where before I was using a smaller scoop trying to get larger cookies and coming up with various sizes.

Kind of cheap-feeling & light, so just ok in terms of quality, but seems functional. I've only used ONCE and pinched myself when washing it, so won't be buying more of this kind. I prefer the double sided handle with spring in between like Solula.

Perfect for making cookies

Strong for using with cookie dough the other kind break and the gears skip..

Used to scoop cookie dough for about 3 weeks until the mechanism fell apart and could not be reassembled.

I had been looking for years to find a thumb-activated spring lever scoop, many commercial scoops have a squeeze handle and I find them very difficult to use. The Cuisinox DIS40P Spring Action Disher Scoop, Size #40 is a good weight of stainless steel. I think the sweep mechanism could be a bit more snug to the inside of the scoop, but it works well, and cleans up easily from use in cookie dough. I look forward to making many many more cookies and trying it out with mini-muffins!

So I purchased this scoop without the knowledge of what the numbers mean on scoop sizes. I lucked out on the #40 size it’s perfect for 2.5” cookies. This scoop works great tried it out and made 2 dozen perfect chocolate chip cookies. Would buy this again in other sizes.

Scoop is too large for scooping ice cream from a tub,and quite akward to handle. Also the scoop is not rigid enough to handle ice cream from a freezer. In my opinion it is really only good for mashed potatoes.

Got the stuck the first time I use it, but after a few more times, it works fine now.
