*Edit - OK, I had to edit this because surprisingly it’s working well now. I deducted one star because I’d still think that the screws they sent were of inferior quality. That being said, it’s no longer sticking and it’s no longer meeting resistance when I turn the handle for the deadbolt. I don’t know why because this is literally the same day a few hours later. But here we are.I bought this to replace my old door lock after an incident damaged the internals. Aesthetically, it’s beautiful—matte black and goes really well with my house. But that’s where the praise ends. This thing is flimsy and badly built. The screws are super soft and strip way too easily. The bottom latch bolt (or whatever you call it) sticks around the halfway point, and you have to jiggle the handle to get it to fully retract. The deadbolt feels like it’s catching on something inside—like there’s mechanical grease buildup or rough internal parts—but you can feel it struggling when you turn it. Nothing at all like the name-brand locks. Save yourself the aggravation of trying to install this and then the additional aggravation of having to replace it because it doesn’t work correctly. Because that’s exactly what I’m about to do.

I ordered this lock, and because we are doing several home updates, I didn't get this installed right away. The first time we used the doorknob in the lock position and unlocked it with a key, the entire round barrel in which the key is inserted came out of the knob and dropped all the tiny little pins inside it all over the floor. In the past we have only used the deadbolt. I noticed these locks were more cheaply made than the originals we have been using for almost 32 years (which have never given us any trouble , but I was "upgrading" to a more modern color).🤦🏻‍♀️ I didn't think they were of such poor quality that the whole mechanism would literally come apart the first time we unlocked them using the key! Unfortunately our return window closed 2 weeks ago, so I'm stuck with this one and another set like it that we've already installed. BTW, the deadbolt on this set is also shorter than our original locks and doesn't go as far into the hole when you lock it. It feels much less secure. I'm hoping I can locate our original locks and we will reinstall them. Stay away from this cheaply made lock set.

Hard to beat for the price. Easy to install. Used this set on a service door in my garage and I am comfortable with the level of security this set affords.

Quality is ok, serves its purpose. Not a quality entry security lock but good for low security.

We bought a house and didn't get a key for the back door, so I decided to buy this set because it was a third of the price of a locksmith's service call alone. The handle on this also locks, whereas the old one didn't, so now we have an extra layer of security. Install was incredibly easy, so I'm not sure what other reviewers were complaining about... And my only experience with changing door hardware is installing August smart locks and repeatedly fixing the same cheap handle that kept falling off my old door. The only hiccup I ran into was getting the deadbolt direction right. When you put the interior part on, you need to make sure the locking tab is turned to match the lock state of the deadbolt. (You'll know you've done it wrong if you can only lock it from the outside with the key. Just take it off, flip the tab, and put it back on.)The reason I'm docking some stars is because the quality is really not great. There is a ton of play with the deadbolt's locking tab thing and the finish scratches very easily. I knew scratching was an issue going in, so I was very careful, but still scratched it slightly while tightening the screws. It's not very noticable, but still kind of a bummer. I can't complain too much because the price of this thing is just unbeatable, and it does look great on my door, but I do not expect it to last for very long. I would not recommend it for a front door or any high-traffic area where it's going to sustain a lot of wear. It has that cheap, un-smooth feeling when you turn the handle or locking mechanisms and given my experience with a previous cheap door handle falling off all the time (which leaves a big old hole in your door), I do not trust it completely for security purposes. I fortunately have several other burglary deterrents at this door (cameras, lights, etc.) but I might have returned it if I didn't.
