I purchased the ebook version of this book because I like to read digitally on my desktop, and it has been a good read. I've learned so much practical knowledge from this book. I have no quarrels with the content of the book. However, I recommend buying the physical copy or the digital version elsewhere because the Kindle software is terrible for studying content. I can't highlight portions without messing up and highlighting the whole page. I need to refresh the page sometimes, which will take me back several pages. The reading software has been a great pain, but I strongly recommend purchasing the book, just not the E-book.

Being a CPA I understand the importance understanding accounting is to the success of most small business. I have heard of stories that business owners were so proud of how much they sold of there most popular product, but could understand why they weren't making as much money as they thought. Turns out when the product was reviewed by another professional considering all the costs that went into making it the business was actually losing money on their must popular product :(This book provides the basic small business owners should understand to manage their company. Accounting isn't something to be intimidated, by it something that once learn, can help your business expand and grow into new markets. The book doesn't involve any of the complexities of accounting that could confuse individuals. Which is good since the complexity is not needed at a small business level.Although I am a CPA I do recommend accounting books to my friends who currently cant afford the services of an accountant. This book will now make it into recommendation list.Product received for a discount in exchange for an honest review.

I highly recommend this book if you are learning accounting. It is straightforward and actually a fun read

While it has some good points and good references in the back I don't think that this will be your last book to help you run your small business. Accounting unfortunately is not anything you could cover in a book with less than 50 pages. There are just so many variables and nuances that will differ from business to business. The book has lots of good information if you are not familiar with different accounting processes. In chapter one, he discusses the importance of assets, liability and equity. Chapter two discusses business transactions and the accounting cycle. In chapter 3 discusses financial statements. In this chapter you get a brief discussion on the different types of financial statements.In chapter 4 discusses Fraud and Ethics when you are into accounting. Chapter 5 is probably the most important of all the chapters to me. This chapter has so much inforamtion about what is called the GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). The terms discussed are the Four Principles and the roles of each and the Four Accounting Assumptions. In the last chapter 6 raps up using the software to building your business and using accounting to run it. I received this product for a discount rate in exchange for my honest review. This however has not influenced my opinion. As an online shopper I know how important these reviews are in helping someone decide whether or not to buy a product.
