Vortex Optics Micro 3x Red Dot Sight Magnifier with Quick-Release Mount

I recently purchased the Vortex Optics Micro 3x Red Dot Sight Magnifier with Quick-Release Mount, and I couldn't be happier with my decision. If you can get past the "Made in China" sticker that's plastered square on top of it, you can really appreciate this solid, well-built piece of equipment that looks and feels premium. The mount is sturdy with a very resolute flip motion that feels satisfying. The glass is clear and while eye relief isn't great, it's actually a bit better than I was expecting based on some of the things I've read about it. I haven't handled any Magnifiers from EOTech or any other high-end manufacturer yet but I can imagine that this at least competes against them at a far more budget friendly price. Very impressive!

Can’t beat Amazon for top quality Vortex gun optics.

My only complaint is that the eye relief is still too small if you don't have adjustable length of pull, for example when mounted on a 590 style stock or non adjustable rifle stock you will have to choke up on it to get a good sight picture.

Very clear glass, a generous eye relief, and a light weight. I am very impressed by this 6x magnifier. Some have complained about the quick release mount. I haven't put it through any recoil yet but it seems to lock up tight. I really like that it ships with different riser plates. I tried to line up a couple shots which was difficult and doesn't come close to doing the magnifier justice. Vortex did it again.

I have used a lot of magnifiers and this is only second to Eotech in my opinion. Holosun is good but the mount is weak compared to the vortex. The alignment of the vortex 3x is also perfect for running it with Eotechs with a riser like the 512’s and EXPS2’s.

Being my first magnafier, I would say it works as intended. Mount is really good, however, the Q.D. lever flips closed right next the the end of my charging Handel and forces me to only be able to charge the AR15 from the right side. You would think why don't you just move it forward...problem is the eye relief is such that it really doesn't allow for this. So you are forced to move it as far back as the rail allows and I still find myself forced to adjust my head forward. That is not to say the eye relief is bad...it's just a small optic and runs true to what others have said about the Holosun magnifier. It's functionally a bit better in the sense the tube is longer. However, I trust Vortex more than Holosun and feel like this is a quality optic for the price.

Haven't taken it to the range yet, but it's very solid and the optic is clear with a nice amount of eye relief.My complaints are the centering knobs don't really do anything (read update below), and that it's made in China.The knobs tighten after less than one turn clockwise from factory, and counterclockwise backs them out quickly. That said, with the riser installed and it sitting behind my EOTech EXPS3-0, the reticle is close to center and unobstructed by the holosight's frame, so I didn't really have to adjust the knobs anyway.As far as it being made in China, it's an expensive sight. I'd prefer it to be made in America.Edit: I am a total noob and didn't realize you have to take off the caps on the adjustment knobs before you center the scope. I've attached pics of what I'm talking about and adjusted my star rating from 4 to 5.
