Excellent camera and VIP service is perfect
On average, this camera is good enough. Looks very nice, Good quality.I love the laser toy feature there keeping the cat in tonus even if nobody is at home. However, the app is not well organized in my opinion. You can notice some lagging with the laser. Sound communication is terrible - you need to play with 2 buttons to speak and to hear. It would be better to have just one button in order to activate/disable the sound channel.I set 3 stars only because...After the free trial period ended, the cloud image previews stopped working (see, a screenshot). You have to open each of them to figure out what was found by the motion detector there. Even the purchase of a cloud subscription doesn't help to fix that. They have online help in the app but my experience was awful. They ask to describe the problem many times (initially by the robot, then several times again by the operator) even when the screenshots were provided. Finally, they asked me to provide a login and a password for my Eye4 account, telling me I can later create a new one. This sounded weird to me. I had to reject this request and gave up on these previews.I would say you can definitely buy it to monitor and play with pets but don't expect too much.UPDATE:My case has got the continue...I was reached out to by Sharon from the VStarcam VIP service team.Sharon is very professional. After asking several reasonable questions, Sharon quickly identified the issue on their side and fixed my problem without any actions from my side. This was the exact example I would expect from professional support.I have increased the rating to 5 stars in my review because the camera and the app work perfectly for me now. The buttons' functionality in the app is not so important because this is how it was designed and you just have to get used to it.Thank you Sharon for your great service.

Nice pet camera
Well, so far it’s it’s pretty good the kitties love the laser and I can keep an eye on them running around the house worth the money great little product. The camera itself works really good tons of features and functions. I do wish there was a better user guide to know what everything and how to do everything but again I do love it.

Good video quality
Nice to be able to play with my cats when I’m away from the house my only complaint is it would be nice if the laser would work on a timer or without having to run the app. It doesn’t work unless it’s open

Huh? Why such a high average rating? A spy device?
This camera works and works well. I did not buy any of the competing products, which cost much more, so I cannot compare them. Why do I give it a low review, then?Well, the product has a strange setup procedure. The camera comes with a small two-sided business card with two QR codes on either side, one for the Android app and the other for the iOS app. You scan the correct one with your phone, and it would take you to the app.I scanned the Android one, for my phone. The link did not direct me to the Google Play store. Instead, it was a URL to a website in China, by the ".ch" suffix. My browser was scared stiff.Instead of downloading it from there, I went to the Google App store and searched on the app's name. I was able to find it. The app had a review rating of just over 3 stars, a far cry from the nearly perfect 5 star rating I see on the Amazon storefront.I followed the instructions which involved powering up the camera and doing specific actions on the phone app based on some audible cues from the camera. Then, a QR code was shown on my phone and I showed it to the camera and it was able to connect to the WiFi network and also to an account I had to create. I seem to recall needing to so something with incense and an incantation and some fancy footwork. So great, I have it set up. I can start the app on my phone and scan around the room. This device is also advertised as a security camera, too. It makes sense. There were several of us who live in the house. I just have to download the app and log into the account that I created on all of the phones. Easy, right?Well ... not so much. Every phone needed a separate account to be created. For this one camera and three members of the household, we had to create three brand new accounts. Why do they need so many emails for? Also, I noticed that if I run the app on my phone and then I navigate to the home screen, it is still burning my battery. The app asks for permissions for everything: pictures, movies, camera, voice, media files, network. Why does it need so much access? Of all of the apps I have on my phone, this one is in second place for requesting for the most permissions. What is it doing on my phone that is burning so much battery? And all of a sudden it makes sense why this is so much cheaper than competing products with the same features. My advice for those of you looking to buy this, skip it.There are a lot of behaviors that the app did not need to do but it does. I will look to replace it the first chance I get. Until then, if there is someone who is hoping to see compromising video from within my mom's house, well, they'll just have to make do with hours and hours of watching her watch TV.
