misplaced negative feedback
I gave this product three stars in error earlier - as I thought the item had been misrepresented when it hadn't. I inadvertently ordered a book rack that was too narrow in the top hook to fit on my treadmill, when I should have paid closer attention to the dimensions before ordering. I also didn't like the "lip" at the bottom because it makes turning the pages difficult. Since posting that negative feedback, I received e-mails both from Amazon and from the seller directly explaining that they DO offer racks with wider top loops and also one without a lip. So I recant my three stars and if I can figure out a way to edit the one already posted, I will do so...but figured this might help in any case.

Good fit
Fits well over the thick control panel on my treadmill, and stays in place. Not too wide or long, so doesn't cover manual control areas: incline and speed controls on the left and right, and a fan at the base. Currently using my treadmill at walking speed ( up to 3.5 mph), and the rack holds my laptop without any movement, jostling, or vibration.

Great Product - Peel the Blue Backing!
This product is exactly as advertised and I love it. It looks like it's blue when you get it, but it is just the protective backing that is blue. When you peel it off, you find a crystal clear book/magazine holder underneath. But be warned, you won't believe that there's backing on it. The seller sent me a picture of it partially peeled off before I finally got it off. I hope those two reviewers who gave this one star because of the blue color see this, and that they go back and peel the backing off of their book holder!

All gyms should have these
This is my 2nd one. I'm kicking myself for giving away the 1st when my elliptical machine kicked the bucket. It holds an average book. You have to be a bit creative to hold a thick textbook, but I did it during college. When you're reading a dry textbook, walking on a treadmill or a stairclimber is a great way to stay alert. I was even able to highlight when needed!
