Happy with Purchase
The Sgain Dubh is really not bad. I was expecting a lesser quality, but honestly, it's not bad. The blade seems to be attached fairly well. The design on the handle and sheath is fine. It is an inexpensive way to up your look. Yes, you can pay a lot more and maybe get a better look. But for a few bucks, and the fact that when it's in your Kilt Hose, you are only seeing a fraction of the handle, yeah, works well for me.

It’s ok
Good for the price but be prepared to have to use glue on it. Blade is real but the rest is made from plastic. Not great durability.

Not what negative comments said
First some back story. I am sitting at home trying to recover from an upper respiratory infection and reading a book about knives and swords. During a deep moment of boredom I go to Amazon and look at knives and such. I spot the "Scottish" knife and click "purchase" sort of in a medicinal haze. A couple of days later I am looking over my orders (actually waiting for a medical supply) and I see the knife. Now a bit more clear of head I check it out and read the comments. "What have I done!" Oh well, what the heck I can use a letter opener.Yesterday it arrives and wow for less than $10.00 I did alright. The scabbard and handle are plastic, but well put together and sturdy. The spacer, throat, and chape are all metal. There is a blue "glass" stone in the top of the pommel. Now the blade. It is marked "440 Stainless China", it is a single edge with a small fuller running down about half of one side with file marks running on the top third of the blade. The blade is sharp! Sharp enough to do the "shave the hairs off your arm test." This is a good enough knife for someone wanting to top off their Highland dress without spending much money at all. As far as all the past negative comments all I can say is it may be a tale of many knives, made at different times and by different makers. I am well pleased with my $ 9.99 investment.

Sorry, I've paid on other knifes almost same price and better quality this one I'm not satisfied, looks like a toy, blade is not as stiff looks like a cheap kitchen knife
