You GOTTA get this cat.
I may be 80, but I don't have dementia or anything else wrong with me. But I've named him Domino and the comfort he brings is wonderful. I've always had a cat until the last one died in 2019 - when he was 19. After cancer treatment I have mobility limitations and need help with things like hanging up clothes, cleaning - it took away my balance. So I live in an assisted living facility but we can't have pets here. I have missed my Snowball terribly. His picture on my wall reminds me, but I still miss him - until I got Domino. He's so real it's incredible - even bends back to get his belly scratched. He feels, acts and sounds completely real. The comfort he gives me is wonderful, even when he's just purring and I stroke him. (His meow is unbelievably real) You can turn off the sound but I rarely do.). Many of my friends here actually thought he was real until I told them he isn't (one still does!). His batteries last depending on how much you have him turned on. I change them every two weeks because I'm rarely without him in my apartment and he's in my lap purring while I watch movies, listen to music or whatever.

Surprisingly helpful.
I was surprised at how much my mom loves this cat. It is not super realistic, but it meows and purrs when moved or petted. It’s like this was what my mom was missing for ages - she hasn’t been able to take care of a cat for a good while and her dementia has progressed quite a bit. At first I thought she understood that it’s a robot, but now I think she thinks it’s real. It’s her new comfort object and I am so glad I got it for her.

A wonderful gift for someone with dementia.
I bought this for my 90 year old Mom who has aphasia and severe dementia. The cat meows, licks its paw and purrs and and my Mom loves it. I've even seen her kiss the top of the cat's head...very sweet. It's hard to know what to buy someone who can't speak and who really doesn't even know who you are, so I'm super happy with the cat. I also bought my Mom the dog but she seems to like the cat more (I think it's the purring).

Comforting pet for a person with dementia. Highly recommended.
We bought this cat for a family member with dementia. She loves the cat and picks it up and talks to it! It meows, purrs and moves. The movements are somewhat mechanical and not smooth, but it doesn't detract much. The meows and purrs can be turned off if wanted, so that is helpful if you get tired of it. It has been a worthwhile purchase!

Good Company for anyone!
I would give the cat 10 stars if possible. My 97yr old mother absolutely LOVES her cat. She says it’s lots of company to her!

Makes my best friend smile again
The media could not be loaded. My partner & best friend lost his beloved cat last year and misses her terribly. Due to illness and going blind, he feels he can’t take care of another cat any more plus he’s concerned what would happen to his pet when he passes. The holiday season is especially rough on him and I’ve been very concerned. This cat is my early Christmas gift for him and I hope it will help him cope.I told him why the early gift and gave it to him on Sunday. Now I wish I’d taken a picture of his delight! He laughed & smiled so bright 😊 I haven’t seen him this happy in a long time. The cat looks like his beloved MsKitty, a long haired tuxedo cat, and her fur feels soft. Meow & purr are louder, I assume for us hard of hearing, but sounds very sweet. She rolled over, interacted while we were talking, to his delight.Yes, there is a slight mechanical noise when she moves and her body is not as soft as a real cat, the pads in her paw feel somewhat firmer BUT it is the perfect companion for any cat lover who misses their fur baby and can’t take care of a real cat.I wish it would be rechargeable for easier handling. For anyone with a loved one missing their pet, this is a great gift of love and care. MsKitty sleeps on the other side of his bed and he can reach over, feel her purr, hear her meow and reminisce of times past but look forward to the future! He made a clip and sent it to his sister and she thought the cat was real! lol! I tried to post a copy but couldn’t, sorry. You can’t put a price tag on happiness and I sincerely hope MsKitty will be his companion for a long time, unlike some other reviewers reported.Well made, very protective packaging, I highly recommend this cat as it is a wonderful gift.Update 12/04/24Was just able to add the short clip mentioned above. My friend calls her Cutie now and is so very happy, he even talks to her like we all do with our “living” pets. His family noticed him perking up a little and is a little happier. For as long as it lasts, money very well spent. It means the world to me to have him talk animated about Cutie, smile/joke and how his family members are stopping by to meet the addition to the family! lol

Well worth the cost!
I bought this for my mom, who has fairly severe dementia. She hallucinates quite frequently, and she adored this cat. She would place it on her walker and take it everywhere, cover it with a blanket and sleep with it. The one thing I did have to do was make sure that I turned it off at night since it it motion sensitive and it would meow through the night and of course she would stay awake talking to it. I cannot speak for others, but she truly believed this was a real cat and would have tried to feed it, so I would have to tell her that I already fed it. Truly worth the cost.
