Very Satisfying!!
We purchased this after seeing how well it worked for a neighbor. We are replacing one that we have that runs off AA batteries. This one actually seems to have a higher voltage output. The bugs snap much louder, creating a much more satisfying "SNAP". Very fun to hear. We bought the large size to use outside and the mini for indoor use.

ZAP TIMES
The light looks blue so it might just illuminate a flying insect you are after or after you. Don't drop this one on the handle end, I don't think it would fare well. The handle feels weird because there is a flat side with the light switch and charging port. Looking forward to see how it does on the yellow flies, those monsters can take a hit and keep going.

Great for Swatting Bugs
My family loves this bug zapper. Quickly and easily dispatches flies that were difficult to hit with your hand. Next time I might go with a larger version to get more surface area.

Doesn't work & not returnable!
I can't tell if it even works other than the LED light, but like a previous version is a whole lot better. This is an updated version of A Zap Racket I got several years ago. The one thing I like a lot better on the Zap Racket is that the light doesn't stay on all the time. It comes on each time I press the button to zap a fly a fly which is perfect & in my humble opinion is the way it should work. The newer version, the Zap It, the light is on all the time or you turn it off & have to turn it on manually when you go hunting for the little black bugs that are driving you crazy. Perhaps mine is defective but I don't like that feature. I either have leave it on all day & drain the battery or I have to take the time to turn it on & then try to find the black critter that has been driving me crazy. The description says "Press the activation button on your bug zapper racket, and an indicator light glows" I have tried it several times & there is no light glowing.I bought 2 of them & will try the other one today to see if perhaps the 1st one I opened might be defective. If the light doesn't stay on all the time on the 2nd one that will confirm the 1st one is defective. If the 2nd one stays on all the time then I will know that they are both probably going back because I don't like leaving the light on all the time.Ok, I've now tried both of the new ones & just got & neither one has an indicator light that flows when you press the activation button & the LED light stays on all the time. My old one the light only comes on when you press the activation button. So, my opinion is this zapper took a step backwards in terms of performance from the previous version. The description on the website is wrong & it is definitely not as described. Waste of money! Add insult to injury & this item is non returnable & there is nothing listed on the Amazon website.

Too difficult to try to catch a fly that’s flying around it just never got zapped
Maybe if I’ve gone after bigger bugs it would’ve worked but I got absolutely no results from this even when I was using one in each hand

Powerful & effective - the best one I've tried
I've purchased four zapper rackets from Amazon so far:Elucto 2-wire / 2xAA battery / 3200~3500 voltsBlack Flag 3-layer / 2xAA battery / 2750 voltsLanpuly 3-layer / USB rechargeable lithium-ion battery / 4000 voltsZapIt ! 3-layer / USB rechargeable lithium-ion battery / 4000 voltsThe Rechargeable Zap It! is by far the best, due to the grid design and higher voltage. Here's what I've learned so far:3-layer is better than 2-wireExamples of 2-wire, single-layer designs include Executioner and Elucto. To be zapped, the bug must touch 2 wires. It works well for larger bugs but in my experience, small gnats pass right between the wires with no effect. The more common 3-layer design has an inner "hot" grid separated from the outer "ground" layers with plastic spacers. To be zapped, part of the bug has to go far enough in the mesh to touch the center grid. You'd think it would be less effective… but in my testing, it works equally well on large bugs … and much better on small flying gnats.USB rechargeable lithium-ion battery is better than AA batteryZapper rackets are usually powered by two AA batteries or a single USB rechargeable lithium ion battery. AA battery powered zappers are rated between 2750 & 3500 volts while USB rechargeables can go as high as 4000 volts. It’s a difference you can see and hear … and the higher voltage improves the chances of a kill.ZapIt ! USB Rechargeable is the best I've triedOne way to test a zapper racket is to press it against the foliage of a plant with small leaves. It shows how sensitive it is (how many sparks) and how powerful it is (how loud are the cracking sounds)Lanpuly was the first 4000 volt, USB-rechargeable racket I purchased. Doing the foliage test, it didn't work nearly as well as the Rechargeable ZapIt!The voltage is the same so what's different? It turns out the internal gaps between the 3 layers in the Lanpuly are wider … so bugs are less likely to touch the center layer. The ZapIt! grid spacing is closer and in the foliage test, it produces far more and louder sparks. For use on bugs, it's also the best I've tried. As an example of the power and sensitivity, I placed the face of the Rechargeable ZapIt! on a silverfish on the carpet. The result was a loud display of sparks like the 4th of July ! The silverfish was vaporized … and the snapping, crackling sounds were so loud that they startled my wife in the next room !There are three sizes: Mini 16" long x 6.3" wide / Medium 18" long x 7.6" wide / Large 19" long x 8.3" wide. I've tried the Medium and Large and recommend the Medium as the slimmer grip makes it easier to snap your wrist back and forth while also having to hold the power button down with your thumb. There's no reason to get the Mini in my opinion.Note: Amazon also sells ZapIt! rackets powered by 2xAA batteries that are only rated for 3500 volts. Unless USB charging is not available, that option is not recommended.Tip: an iPad USB charger charges faster than a smaller iPhone "cube" chargerI hope this information is helpful !
