Does the job just fine! The instructions are as noob friendly as possible. The diagonal brace behind the board does a good job of insuring the ball bounces firmly off the board. The rim is great quality. The screws are zinc plated and quality steel. Easy to lower and raise for the kiddos.Things to note:1. The backboard has a side wall and given it's plexiglass and will eventually become brittle and break it will be impossible to find a replacement board unless you buy the exact one from them.2. The distance of the mounting holes that secure it to the wall are not 16 on center so you'll have to add studs in the wall to secure it properly.3. Make sure you face the head of the screws that hold the mounting plate that attaches to the back of the board towards the center of the board (see picture). If you face the 4 screws the wrong way they will interfere with the pivot of the backboard.

I was apprehensive about finding an affordable good quality hoop and backboard that would attach to my carport and offer both sturdiness and height adjustability. Yesterday I finished the installation and it is absolutely perfect. I seldom write reviews but feel compelled to share my satisfaction when a product is actually better than anticipated. Since the unit is so new I can't vouch for its longevity but I am a 70 year old handyman and I have seen a lot of poor equipment being falsely advertised as "quality." So what makes it so good? The steel is thick and extra stable. The nuts and bolts go together easily and stay together with the locknuts threading beautifully. The rim is incredibly sturdy. And the fit and finish is superb at this price level. I guess you can tell that I am a very satisfied customer who is often quite critical (just ask the Mrs.:-)) So far I believe this hoop will be a winner with my 5 kids and 5 grandkids. It adjusts smoothly to different heights. If there is one thing I predict could be a problem it will likely be the shiny plexi surface which will probably look pretty bad by the end of the summer due to scuffing. So not perfect but still a definite 5 star. Did I say it was also beautiful? and did I say the installation manual was about the best I have ever seen with any product? Kudos to the company who put the time, effort and expense into this feature which makes installation a doable thing for many.

New favorite feature at our house! The backboard is not glass but some kind of plexiglass or plastic but the functionality is great. Fairly sturdy and easy enough that my 11 yr old can adjust the height of the hoop.

I don’t normally take the time to write reviews. However, in this instance I was extremely impressed with the build quality and clarity of instructions! Price to value is high on this. Unlike a lot of need to be assembled products - the conciseness, simplicity, and completeness of the instructions was a welcome sight .

My son (9 yo) received the Silverback basketball hoop for Christmas, and though the result is visually and structurally great, this 'outside-of-your-garage-wall' project requires a good amount of planning depending on your set-up. At least in my case....Also, the hoop does not come with any mounting hardware at all, the company just tells you to go talk to a 'structural engineer' (right, I'll just go check the yellow pages then), and that they will not be held liable for whatever you do with your wall.So It took me 2 days to completely finish the work, including 1.5 day was planning and securing the mount properly (the longest part of this project). The assembly of the Silverback basketball hoop, arm, lift mechanism, and backerboard itself is easy (about 2 hrs) but it is a heavy object and mechanism, about 80 lbs, and I just did not want to have any accident or problems. As you can see on the pictures, I had to remove some drywall within the garage, re-route the electricity / lights which was giving power outside right around the same area, re-inforce the wall mount from the garage door railing, and secure some side studs to the top ceiling plate and to the bottom garage structural beam. Then I drilled some pilot holes from the outside wall with 5/16 lag screws 10 inches long, it looks very solid!Hope you find it useful, the hoop is a great looking product, but needs quite a bit of planning and preparation.Happy holidays. We have two 6 year old future basketball stars. They love the new hoop! Installed on a pole in the driveway. The install took the better part of a day to complete. I had to get two tall ladders (8 foot+ is recommended), some mounting lag bolts/washers, a level (preferred a large framing level), and a patient wife (any wife will do). The instructions were fairly simple to follow, although I didn’t read them very well and had to redo a couple of steps.Once done, I was pleased with the outcome. The goal doesn’t wobble when shooting, adjusts in height down to 7.5 feet so I can dunk over my kids and impress the neighbors with my sick ball skills. It’s been through a few storms and looks good as new. Highly recommend!

Very sturdy and looks great! Even held up perfectly after a rough winter. Really easy to adjust the height of the basket which my son loves for some dunking sessions.

Just know that you have to buy hardware to bolt/lag/whatever into your building and you are good to go. Instructions for me were very easy. Is it a professional hoop, no. Is it fantastic for the money yes. It is so much more stable than cheap weighted base hoops, the bounce off the rim and backboard for bank shots is so much closer to what you see in a Gym. Don't hesitate just get it
