Quality Dried Pozole
I’ve struggled to find a better quality brand of dried pozole. This brand hits all the rights notes - firm with a nice chew. It makes the most flavorful pozole rojo and pozole verde.

Better than canned
Easy to use. Soak overnight, cooks slowly all day and makes great posole.

Pozole, MMMM mmm
I love hominy. I had never tried to cook it from dried, always have gotten canned. Then I found Pozole, a wonderful stew using hominy. Rather than use canned I wondered if dried would have more corn flavor. The answer is "not really". Other than the satisfaction of controlling the softness of the hominy through slow cooking and getting more of the spice flavors as it cooks, I found the corn/hominy flavor is not more pronounced than canned. So, in this case dried are a little more expensive, they do pick up other flavors while cooking the canned version does not unless cooked for a long time (making the hominy mushy). However, I prefer more of a hominy flavor, separate from the broth flavors which has the spices I use in this stew. For that reason, I gave 4 stars for flavor. This dried hominy picks up the spice flavors while maintaining its texture, but loses the hominy/corn flavor I prefer.

Not hominy!!
This product is advertised as corn for pozole, however, this is not hominy. This must be regular white corn or something, but it’s not what you usually would use for authentic mexican pozole. The grain is too small and I won’t be using it. And it’s my loss because there is no returns on this product so I’m screwed and I will have to buy something else.

Brings back great memories
I have a relative who is 95 I go visit from time to time. She lives alone, active for 95 and loves foods she remembers from her youth. Cooked hominy is one of those food items I remember not long ago and asked her if she would eat any if I bought and cooked it. "YES!"This is "our" second purchase that brings me back to rite a review for the first purchase. It's good, it's clean, it's tasty and reasonably priced for what I have to spend and am willing to spend. Now off to make that 2nd order
